I was at the Altoona Mirror Athlete of the Week Banquet last night and had a chance to hear Vlad Hilling’s story. What an awesome kid. A Ukrainian orphan who was getting old and feared he would be put out on the streets in the Ukraine, he would lay awake and pray for an American family. His prayers were answered. He knew 10 words of english when he came here and is now trilingual. He’s walking on to compete to kick at PSU out of Hollidaysburg High school. Let’s go Vlad!!!!! You are an impressive young man. Don’t take your foot off the gas.

With a little luck, he may be hitting the winning FG in the 2019 championship game to beat Bama. How's that for an amazing story?

PSU has grabbed two great WO kickers for this year. Vlad and a kid named Checca out of NoVa. Wouldn’t be shocked if they both find the field this year. I do not want Gillikin kicking. He is a weapon punting.
