So I have been saying for years that 'global warming' is actually a return to normal. "Scientists" say that the earth has warmed over the last 150 years. Well there was this thing called the "Little Ice Age in the 1600-1912 time period. A lot of people say that it was due to a reduction in solar activity called the Maunder Minimum. I have been saying that that time period saw many massive volcanoes that were major contributors to the cooling of that time. Six of the biggest in history
Here is a list of Icelandic volcano eruptions that is quite impressive. Note that intense activity during the Little Ice Age time period. Almost continuous.
Tambora, Krakatoa, the Ice Landic volcanoes and more all erupted in that time period. They blew a huge amount of ash and gasses into the upper atmosphere which cooled the earth . Since 19900 there have been very few major volcanoes allowing the atmosphere to cleanse itself and for temperatures to return to normal.
Now there is a volcano in Bali that is belching away and scientists are studying it to see how it affects the climate. Stupidly, they are talking about seeing how it works so that humans can then try Geo-engineering by releasing tons of stuff into the atmosphere to cool the earth. Stupid because Pinatubo belched out an estimated 20,000,000 tons of stuff....and Pinatubo was small com[pared to Tambora and Krakatoa and others.
Are really gonna dump a 100 mil tons of stuff into the atmosphere in the hopes it will cool the earth? What if it doesn't work? What if it works and cools the earth too much? What about the gazillion unintended affects that no one can foresee?
Scientists are hoping they can take advantage of these eruptions to study the next big event — and potentially save the planet from a series of cataclysmic events using geoengineering. The Times describes geoengineering as “intervening in the atmosphere to deliberately cool the planet.”
Vice says it is “seen by some as a distraction from the real challenge of climate change in much of the scientific community,” yet even the UN has suggested that the science has merit.
Gee, the UN likes it. That makes me really confident. Just crazy how man never learns
