This is just for fun, to help pass the time until wrestling returns. Pick the 10 NCAA Champs in order of confidence. Tiebreaker will be top team at Nationals with points scored, second will be Hodge trophy winner.
Example....this will also serve as my picks.

149 Zain 10
157 Nolf 9
197 Cox 8
184 Dean 7
285 Snyder 6
165 Imar 5
133 Clark 4
174 Nickal 3
141 Heil 2
125 Gilman 1

Team champ: PSU 110

Hodge: Zain

Please specify the weights for your predictions. Even though most are obvious, there will surely be weight changes between now and then. I'll leave this open for about a week so everyone is picking with basically the same knowledge (or, more accurately, the lack thereof) I'll throw the info in a spreadsheet and we can revisit in March and see just how wrong most of us were!

Hodge Snyder or Cox, whoever places higher at Rio. Zain will be most worthy -- just like he was this year -- but Snyder and Cox both have hype edge + Cox will be a SR.

197 Cox - 10
149 Zain - 9
285 Snyder - 8
157 Nolf - 7
174/184 Nickal/Dean - 6
141 Heil - 5
165 Martinez - 4
174/184 Z.Valencia - 3
133 Clark - 2
125 Tomasello - 1

PSU 120
Hodge - Cox

I know it's a cheat but not sure where Valencia is going. Wherever he goes, I'm picking him and the other weight I'll confidently pick either Nickal or Dean.

I know this will make the flo boys seem like haters because they don't agree with Guns, but this is how they see it:

or maybe I should have kept that to myself :)

Saw that and it certainly makes sense from the individual perspective - which also makes it likely. From a team perspective, ASU will get more talented wrestlers in the lineup if the Valencia's go 174 and 184 so I'm keeping that open as a possibility.

Please specify your picks in the bolded areas, part of what makes this challenging (impossible?) is the unknown. Thanks guys.

165 I. Jordan 2 Imar won't be able to throw guys around...and he will need some concussion protocols.
125 Gilman 1 Coin toss.

I notice some people are assigning 'confidence' numbers opposite from Burnsie's example. It should be 10 = most confident to 1 = least confident.

Hwt--Snyder 10
149--Retherford 9
197--Cox 8
157--Nolf 7
184--Dean 6

141--Heil 4
174--Z Valencia 3
125--Tomasello 2
133--Brock 1

PSU: 120 pts

Hodge: Retherford

(I think the top 3 are virtual locks and could be put in almost any order. I thinkl Nolf is almost there). I did put Snyder as favorite for Hodge, but his low # of falls should count against him. We'll see. If Z Valencia goes at 184, then I pick Nickal at 174. I stay with Dean even if Z Valencia is at 184.

PSU = 109 pts

Hodge: IMar. With at least 1 Jordan in the mix, plus a flood of incoming studs at this weight, if he runs the table for NC3 he'll be tough to beat out in the voter's minds (IMO Snyder & Cox will wrestle limited schedules. Zain will be more than deserving, but a victim of circumstance).

Sorry I missed the window, still interested in playing unofficially:

Ehhh, you're in! I can't think of any news that broke over the last week and a half that'll give you an unfair advantage.

Absolutely funny post. But look into the message. In 2016 we had five guys in the NCAA finals. And none of those were a surprise. No, they all were not 1-2 seeds, but still it was a very strong and reasonable representation. Cali's list tells me we fall of the "reasonable" edge after 3 this year. I know, they have to wrestle yet, so it could certainly change. But there is the Big 3, then a lot of uncertainty. And yes, every team has unknowns, but we have a lot of turnover / question marks.

7 - Suriano - true freshman. What's the top end this year? Podium?
6 - Joseph - redshirt frosh at a weight we didn't expect. More interesting than Morelli.
5 - Rasheed - is this his weight class? Can he be effective here? Is this where Bo ends up?
4 - Nevills - injured two straight years. What are we going to see.
3 - Cassar - injured and re-injured. If not for his freestyle accomplishments what would we be saying here?
2 - Cortez - I think he is more proven, but its been a long time since he wrestled.
1 - Guilibon - at 141, lots to prove to people

You are significantly underselling Vincenzo Joseph who is every bit the real deal. Cenzo could challenge IMAR but it's a loaded 165 with Massa and Isaac Jordan there too.I get and agree with the overall point of your post though. Also, I expect Suriano to AA and would be surprised if he didn't, he's that good Now.

All these guys will return for additional years minus JG, that's the plus, young team. Also, add in Hall, Nolf, Nickal, and Zain for more years. This could be our down year, that ain't too bad :)

Is it generally thought that Nick Lee will fill in as a true freshman in 2018 after Jimmy graduates? Also assuming Bo moves up to 184 to slot Hall in at 174. Would Rasheed then go to 197 to compete with Cassar?

Cael likes to redshirt most all , unless we need a guy to go(Nico, this year Suriano). I'd say at 141 in two years you'd be more likely to see a senior in Kade Moss get first crack, rather than a true Nick Lee especially without needing the pts with a Loaded 2018 team.

Gary Dinmore could be in the conversation too, if he's able to hold 141.
