after 5 matches Mizzou up 11-9 even though ISU won 3 matches.

Crazy results..Gomez gets tech’d by Erneste because he gets down and then tries one crazy move after another. He’s no top 8 guy. He’ll get picked apart if you wrestle smart against him.

Mauller who after last week beating GFeller, people were asking if he can be NC contender. He gets hammered 11-4 from Degan.

Call me crazy, but I think Berge has just as much a chance to make podium as Mauller, Lugo, Degan, Gfeller if not more

RBY will be right there in top 6

Eirman pins Parker after being taken down a couple times. He baits people into his cradle

Hard to say how freshmen will do at the National Tournament. Kids deal differently to the brighter lights, some with anxiety, some with added stress (placed on themselves), others embrace the entire experience.

Seen it go both ways over the decades. Hard to tell until they're in the moment, though the hope for the Lions is that Cael's consistent message throughout the season is heard.

Gomez ended up falling behind and gambled big twice which cost him 4 one time and 6 the other time. This kid tries to win every match and it got away from him trying to go big against a guy with a huge height advantage. Gomez will struggle with long guys, but he is perfect for knocking off the other body type. I have watched this kid since high school and certainly don't share your opinion. I love watching RBY and think he can AA this year, but if you have watched both all year and think RBY is light years ahead of Gomez I have no idea what you look for in a wrestler. I do share your belief that Berge can make the podium. Mauller is a huge talent who looked off last night while Degan was on. Mauller could beat anyone at this weight but still has those true freshman mental lapses.

James..dont get me wrong. I love watching Gomez. He’s a highlight reel waiting to happen.

That being said. Give me the guy that can get to the legs consistently and good defense over him any day if I’m looking to go deep in a tourney.

He gets down and down big in MANY matches I’ve seen him in this year. He has heart and fun to watch but not my pic for podium this year

I respect that sir- I will hold out hope that he can get there.

One thing to point out is that Mauller has 2 losses this year and they are both to Degen. I didn't see the dual yesterday(and am probably not knowledgeable to comment anyway) so I can't say if Mauller was off or not, but there could just be a poor style matchup against Degen.

Also worth noting that, other than his matches with Degen, the only wrestlers of note he's faced are Max Thomsen and Gfeller.

Could be a style matchup..Degan has to be the tallest 149 on the planet, maybe that length gives Mauller issues. Honestly, I've only seen Mauller wrestle a few times..so I don't have a super read on him.

My point was 149 will be Ash, Jordan, Kolodzik top 3 (yeah I know Kolo took a bad loss).

Then after those 3 there's room for Berge. You have Berge, O'Connor, Finesilver, Lugo, Gfeller, Mauller, Degan, Oliver, Heil, Martin.. I can just as easily see Berge beating all of them as losing to them. Will be interesting to see what the podium looks like at the end of it all..

Win or lose I love watching Gomez wrestle.
