Have no idea who sent it. It's hard to describe. Title is Conspiracy amateurs by Jason Williams. Did a google search and nothing. No publisher, no intro, no page numbers, nothing. It's like something Jack Nicholson started typing from the Overlook Hotel. Print looks like an old type writer. Formatting is awful. Reading it made little sense.

The only information about its whereabouts is at the end where it says Made in the USA, Middletown, DE. 27 June 2019 which was yesterday. Like I said, bizarre.

Looks like you got a heck of a deal if it just showed up. Seems to be listed for $185.79 on Amazon.

You can self publish on Amazon. I assume that's what happened with this book.

Or $245 Canadian. That's where I saw it listed.

Trying to figure out how it landed in my mailbox. Name and address were spot on.

When you’re done reading it, send it my way.

Are the pages stuck together?

Maybe something in the binding reading your computer keystrokes. Imagine the old mission Impossible TV show.

Good call. A purchase of $244 showed up on my statement. Just filed a fraud claim and I will be returning this book to Amazon.

Something similar happened to me earlier this year but it was Barnes and Noble. I found out because I received notification that stuff I didn’t order was shipping. They did change the mailing address and I was refunded immediately. I then went into my account and removed the credit card I had on file and changed the password. I no longer keep CCs on file with websites.

I looked it up. I work for a bookseller. There have been a lot of these kinds of books being independently published over the last, maybe 5 years or so. As nearly as I can tell, lunatics from the Internet are banding together to create virtual collectives and publishing their manifestos. The books are almost never available anywhere but Amazon and the customer usually ranges from inappropriately angry to outright crazy in their reactions when we can not get it.

Not sure what's going on, but I just had another Amazon delivery from UPS. This time it's a Hotor car vacuum, sells for $28 and was shipped from Las Vegas. Nothing on the credit cards yet.

Time to cancel that card.

This is a standard fraud scheme. The “author” is paid by Amazon after the books are ordered. So they essentially convert your stolen card to cash by receiving royalties from Amazon.

On top of that, you will want to check with Amazon as they may have you as the Author. If so, they will be sending you a 1099 for the royalties even though the payments went to a different bank account.

I’d get on this quick.

If you’re lucky, it’s just a stolen card. They may have listed someone else as they author.
