Shocked at your 149. Bull and Joseph at 165. Cassar will beat Steveson. Grown man strength will be too much for the 19 years old.

165 Joseph over Bull Dec.
174 Hall over ZV razor thin dec.
184 Martin over Sugar Dec.
197 Bo over Moore Dec.
285 Gable over Raptor Dec.
PSU puts 7 in the finals with the big moment of the tourney being Nick Lee upsetting some tOSU guy in the semi. Cael accepts another team title but still wishes he could coach.

Do you see Lee beating McKenna two or three times then? If he doesn't beat him in the dual or Big Ten, not sure how he would get a 2 or 3 seed and avoid Yianni in the semifinals. I'd love to see Nick in the finals, but he may have to figure out Eierman also. He's faced him twice (that I know of) and it hasn't really been close either time.

125: Lee over Rivera (MD) - PSU does not qualify
133: Fix over Suriano - RBY 5th (Crazy weight to call)
141: Yianni over McKenna (Lee 3rd)
149: Ashnault over Jordan (Berge 7th/8th/R12)
157: Nolf over Deakin (MD)
165: Cenzo over Marinelli
174: Hall over Valencia
184: Martin over Rasheed
197: Bo over Moore (MD)
285: Cassar over Gable (Match of the night)

.....and yes, it is WAY too early, and these are difficult to do right now, but, still fun.

You assume YD is the one seed. I predict JM is the 1 with Nick as the 4. Time will tell- returning champions are not certain #1 seeds (ask Mark Hall).

That's reasonable. I just didn't think of the #1 being anyone buy Yianni unless he loses. A lot can happen as Lee and McKenna could very well see each other twice before then. I like your scenario. Let Yianni and Eierman battle it out. But I would like your scenario better if Nick can find a way to solve Yianni (or Eierman) and win the whole damned thing! :)

I would never count Yianni out, after what I saw last year, but, he has a long way to come back from a nasty injury. Eierman could be in the finals or lose a couple of 13-11 type matches and place low. I love the way Nick is wrestling. However, McKenna is very tough. I think their matches are going to be very good battles that I'm looking forward to seeing. 141 is not as deep as 133, but, it's tough at the top.

Yianni will meet both McKenna and Eierman in the regular season so it is possible he loses one or both of those and isn't seeded #1. However, I predict he will win both of those matches and enter NCAAs unbeaten and the #1 seed.

Zacherl is out for the year.

While admittedly biased, here's my optimistic prediction.

125: Lee over Vito (Teasdale 6th)
133: RBY over Little Nicky of Runtgers (sweet)
141: Nick Lee over Yanni
149: Ashnault over Jordan (Berge 5th)
157: Nolf over Deakin (MD)
165: Joseph over Chance
174: Mark over Valencia (8-2)
184: Sugar Shak over Martin (fall)
197: Bo over Moore (fall)
285: Cassar over Gable (at BIGs and NCAAs)

Eight champs with 6 in a row. And I'll go out on a limb to predict that Penn State will win and that Bo gets the Hodge

Here are your LOCKS to win NCAAs!

125: Lee
133: Suriano
141: McKenna
149: Ashnault
157: Nolf
165: Joseph
174: Hall
184: Martin
197: Nickal
285: Gable

PSU Team Points: 159.0

I will expect these to be your KYPSW picks for NCAA. :)

Good list, although I would add Nickal as a lock.

Yeah I should have and I wouldn't argue if someone did.

But I will never get bubba's machine gun out of my head and a guy unafraid of the big move is destined to have one go the wrong way in my opinion.

Nolf and Spencer aren't as risky, so if I'm going with locks I guess that's my qualifier.

Reasonable. One guy from a rival camp, one from your own. Short, simple, with no bravado. My hope is they all stay healthy.

To be fair I would think should be co hodge winners this year..How in the world can they vote Nolf over Nickal or vice versa? Unless one of them gets upset and can't see that happening unless terrible injury or sickness..

How? By going by the criteria.

In the extremely rare case there is a tie after the first 3 UNDEBATABLE criteria, then by all means the voters may decide they should be co-winners.

I’m going to stick up for the vote method. Winning an award based on a math formula is kind of redundant and reductive. “Most dominant,” or “most pins in fewest time” stands for itself. But being selected by a group of experts as the best because of but also in addition to criterea just has more uumph to it, IMO.

Zain was still robbed though. Past winners do vote—would love to think multi-winners get votes accordingly, but that’s probably not the case. Personally, at this point, other than the one fan vote, I think only past winners should get the vote.

As Spencer just demonstrated he is no longer a 'lock', which in my mind leaves only two remaining Nationwide.

Nolf and Bo, you can pencil both in now, and as a result Co-hodge winners to boot. Health is their only real foe.

All remaining weights there are legitimate challengers to the favorite to at least make it interesting including 141,165 and Heavy for those that limit their input to constant critiques.

And yes that means I do not see Moore or anyone else as a serious Challenger to Bo, the kid is on a mission.

You're kidding, right? If I need to explain the process, I will. Most know it, or at least can get it close.

Please do, I just cant wrap my head around why an award based on set criteria is chosen by popular OPINIONS.
Either use the criteria, or get rid of it and leave it up to the voters

RBY could very well be in the finals. Young man is really good.
