well, since we won the last game by virtue of a hard-fought 42-0 victory in '23, we "retained it" last year
We did win the Governor’s Victory Bell vs. Minnesota.
Pitt counts all their Lambert trophies as national championships
Oops....my bad 🤪 I mistook the Lambert Trophy for the NACDA Director's Cup. We had a good year (2024), should be up there in the standings. Will check now.
PS: Stanford won it again, PSU finished 6th. Not too bad with wrestling and women's V-ball.

It hasn't been awarded yet as it goes by academic year. We are currently in sixth place behind Stanford, UNC, Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wake Forest.

I wasn't around then, but that was after a 1-4 start. Penn State got to 4-4 that year by beating #2 Ohio State 27-0 in Columbus. That must have impressed the voters. Syracuse was 7-3 regular season with a 21-14 win over Penn State, but a 1-point loss against WVU at the end of the season. They finished 3rd behind Penn State and 9-0 Princeton.
