Average
Week 3 of the Average. A reminder that a wrestler must appear in half of the rankings to appear in the Average. Rasheed appears in 4 of the 8, so he appears at 174. Morelli appears in 3 of the 8, so he does not appear at 174. Also, as the computer generated rankings often are more inaccurate (or whatever you'd like to call it) at the beginning of the season, I'll indicate the Average without and with the computer generated rankings. The two averages are not all that different at this point.
Without Computer Generated Included
125: Suriano - 4th (5th)
133: Cortez - 17th (16th)
141: Gulibon - 15th (15th)
149: Zain - 1st (1st)
157: Nolf - 1st (1st)
165: Joseph - 10th (10th)
174: Rasheed - 14th (Morelli - 13th)
184: Nickal - 2nd (2nd)
197: Cutch - 9th (9th)
285: Nevills - 6th (7th)
Team: 2nd (2nd)
With Computer Generated Included

What crack smoker has Zain 7th & Nolf 12th in P4P? Holy moly.
Computer generated, it'll take a bit for the algorithm to make sense. You'll note that Nevills is a spot ahead of Nolf in P4P; he's undefeated and beat a few ranked guys whereas Nolf has had an easier schedule. I don't know SHP's formula but I imagine strength of opponent is a factor.

You'd be 100% correct.

We know we we got with 149, 157, and 184. Champs.

Nice to see the rise in rankings from 125, 197, and 285.

Now we need 133, 141, 165, and 174 to elevate. Most likely 165.

Will that be enough?

You'd think they'd notice the results it's putting out and either modify the code, or at a minimum, apply a manual revision. What's the sense of putting out garbage?
To show an early baseline, and to show how matches move the ratings as the season goes along. I think it's well recognized that, as more data gets plugged into the system later in the season, the ratings become more and more accurate. To this point, keep in mind that of the ten weight-class #1's, six of them won Cliff Keen. (the other four are iMar, and the law offices of Retherford, Nolf, & Nickal...thanks to diggerpup for coming up with that one) Given that there's not a single data point that happened prior to November 1st that the Dual Impact Index pays an iota of attention to, can you really complain about that?

I do suspect the pound-for-pound rankings will straighten themselves out...might take a week or two longer than past years, without Penn State attending the Scuffle, however.

149 and 157 yes, but Gabe Dean has been great this season. I hope we get to see Nickal/Dean at some point, could be a great one.

Fully updated, and Average generated. Not a lot of movement in the rankings. Nevills moved up in several rankings, and Suriano moved up in a few rankings. Cortez dropped a bit in a few rankings.

The biggest variances are in the computer generated rankings. Again, it's relatively early in the season, so their data is rather limited.
