On one hand, March is what people remember, the final enchilada! The negative is it’s all over come that Saturday night.

On the other hand, the New Years tournaments we get 4 full days of wrestling. We get to see new faces, redshirts, etc. We still have half the season to look forward to!

I join the minority. Love the Scuffle/Midlands for viewing pleasure plus it kicks off the meat of the season. NCAA tournament always leaves me a little sad as it is a goodbye to so many great wrestlers each year. I do enjoy those three days a great deal before the sadness hits.

If your name is T Foley, then the answer is neither because those tournaments follow the vastly inferior folkstyle rules, and even a grade school level freestyle tournament provides significantly better quality for wrestling fans.

Nothing beats March but, as a teacher, I love Midlands/Scuffle because I can watch 90% of both tournaments from my couch. In March, I have to get around work firewalls and then attempt to sneakily watch matches while hoping the kids won't bother me. There is also less stress to the winter tournaments so it's almost more enjoyable.

What’s better, one scoop of ice cream or five scoops of ice cream? :)
(Because each holiday tournament *feels* as if it has only 1/4 or 1/5 of the best wrestlers in the country.)

The three days of March not only beats the holiday tournaments but in my humble opinion is the best sporting event there is.

Nationals....Day #2 (quarters, semis, blood round) is probably my favorite wrestling day of the year (Aside from special occasions like when a New Yorker is wrestling for a Fargo or World level title).

Too many chances of there being a weak weight at the New years Tournaments.
125,184,157 at scuffle were weak.
133, hwt, 141 at Midlands were incredibly weak weights

That won't happen at Nationals, hell that won't happen at Big 10's.

I'd rather watch the big 10 championships than Midlands or Scuffle. CKLV was a significantly tougher field than either of those tournaments as well.
