Maryland was very disruptive and I think we went three and out a couple of times. Did Penn State cycle in a bunch of back up o linemen at the same time that Will Levis relieved Clifford? Maybe Maryland was just selling out to fluster Levis? Maybe Levis was making any or the correct audibles?

Eventually our offense got back into rhythm so maybe it’s not concerning. It was a distinct change from the previous possessions.

If you watched the game they showed in a replay that none of the WRs were open. Coverage sacks.

Not sure what people expect when we are running a bunch of backups.

How many snaps did Levis take in a game before yesterday (not counting a knee)?
Given it was zero, what do you think would be a reasonable explanation for your question?

Faux pas to ask a question here where the answer isn't sunshine and roses, these fragile souls shan't stand for it

Very important that Will had a lot of playing time great experience for him.

I wasn’t complaining, I was asking a question. You implied that you know the answer to the question but didn’t answer it. Let me ask it again...

Other than Will Levis, what other backups were in there?

Ranger, kudos to you for raising the issue. Especially in a season where inexperienced backups have come in, taken over and have done fairly well. See Mississippi State, USC and Wisky. However, a more polite way of approaching the topic is to say, "Golly gee whiz, PSU is deep at every position except _____." When it comes to brutal honesty this board can be testy. Don't come in here like a bull in a china shop and infer that our backup QB's cognitive skills don't yet match his physical abilities. You'll get run out of here in a heart beat. As a board veteran you should know better. Thank you.

The WRs were all subs the best I can remember. RBs is irrelevant because the way they are playing them, unless Eury comes in it's not exactly a drastic change. Kuntz was in at TE.

The OL, seems like we moved Miranda to C, Holmes to RT, and I think I spotted Whigan at LG (but could be mistaken). Walker manned LT, Thorpe RG.

Big issue was Maryland sold out and blew up the middle and we kinda just stuck with the call like it was just another play burning clock. On the scoring drives, it appears we ran our offense vs running clock.

It was garbage time, but it's all a learning process. Getting 3 straight blitz's to the mouth is good for a RS Fr QB. It settled him down and he led two scoring drives after. Crazy to think that Tillman wanted us to put Clifford back in for a chance at a passing record.

I get that. But the first three possessions without a first down. If I recollect.

The last time I saw SRV play was on the tour with Jeff Beck. It was in Nov. 1989 at the Spectrum in Philly. Reese Wynans was sick and had to leave the stage. It was one of those nights on the road. Stevie was also frustrated with the sound and took it out on the final encore, Voodoo Child Slight Return. At the time, I was thinking that I couldn't wait to see him again in a better venue. Wasn't meant to be. It makes me sad to think about it. Love Stevie.

That’s the type of info I was looking for. Thanks!

You have to remember who trained Tillman. No wonder JVP didn’t want to leave college football to the Switzers and the Sherrills

You were close.

6 plays, 11 yards, 1 first down
3 plays, 6 yards
3 plays, -3 yards
5 plays, 33 yards, touchdown
7 plays, 44 yards, touchdown

Considering our third down conversion rate was less than stellar prior to this game, I think the offense did well in this portion. The goal at that point was different. First downs and running clock is great, but it's live reps vs an opposing defense. They were no threat to storm back. Gives Levis some true film.

Day had Fields still taking snaps into the 4th quarter. A starting LB was in calling the defense on the Cornhusker TD and goal line stand drive.

Style points vs depth.
