What happened to Cam Sullivan Brown?

I actually thought early on he looked better than Shorter or George but he has been MIA.

I've heard it said here that he was/is injured.

I also believe that throughout his limited career on the field that CSB has looked light years better at actually catching a football in comparison to Shorter and George who both look like deer in headlights once the ball is snapped..... :(:(:(

Too bad for Shorter and George that the games are actually played as they look great in warm-ups!!! ;););)

Did you ever watch the movie Hondo?

Victorio (indian chief) is ready to torture John Wayne (Hondo) to get information on the calvary and he says he will find out whether Hondo will cry out like a coyote (but scared and spill his guts) or be brave like another animal (can't remember which one) and die bravely.

Unfortunately some of the current WR's are being tested on the field and seem to be failing their tests....:(:(

Imagine if chisenna could catch. I think he would have won that spot.

I still wonder what's happened to the grad transfer, Weston Carr. He's 6-2, 202 and reportedly an All-American at his Division level. If true, surely the guy can catch a pass.

I have not seen anyone ask James about Carr during a pc or a Wednesday "scrum." Since James doesn't discuss injuries, I can only guess that Carr is hurt. But I would like to see if he could catch a pass and move the chains.

Yep, and we have a grad transfer Carr with 165 career catches (actually catching a ball in a college game that was thrown to him!!) at Pacific Something and he is 3rd string. That poor kid must run 6.5 sec 40 yard dash to not be playing in front of the stone handed WR's that drop ball after ball for PSU .....

Weston Carr Receiving Stats at Azusa Pacific:
SEASON SCHOOL GP REC YDS YPG YPC TD
2016-17 Azusa Pacific 12 48 903 75.3 18.81 9
2017-18 Azusa Pacific 11 86 1458 132.6 16.95 15
2018-19 Azusa Pacific 9 31 627 69.7 20.23 11

So, that's 32 games, 165 catches for 2,788 yards, and 35 TD's.

Shorter may petition the NCAA for 1 more year of eligibility (4 more total after this season) since there is little evidence that he has actually played so far this year and he would have a fart's chance in a wind storm of putting up those kind of creer numbers. But yes, Carr put those numbers up against lesser competition. But surely all that athleticism that Shorter has will make up for the competition and he'll average 1000 years per season through 2023. What a fairy tale that would be come true!!

Yeah, it does not make sense if Carr isn’t hurt. The door is wide open for what amounts to an unused position in our offense.

IIRC, Carr ran around a 4.7 for PSU once he came to camp. Just not athletic enough to push his way on to the field.

Not sure sir.

My mind is not what it used to be!!

59 sir.

Well that makes sense.
It’s always better to have a WR who runs a 4.6 on the field even if he can’t catch or run good routes.

He actually traveled this weekend. I know he wasn't on the previous few travel rosters.

I don’t know that.
How about you tell us how the guys playing in front of him are grading out ?

I think the most likely explanation is that the coaching staff isn't playing Carr, who is clearly better than the guys on the field, because they don't want to win as much as the fans do.

Yep, being "athletic" must be useful for something that benefits the team much more than actually being able to consistently catch a football on Saturday afternoons in front of a noisy college crowd..... o_Oo_Oo_O

I am sure we can expect more of the same.

Well Carr is fastest enough to run verticals because that is all that matters in our offense (Sarcasm)....sort of

By "the same", do you mean?
a) The PSU WR's that continue to drop passes keep starting and playing.
b) The PSU WR's that have dropped a ton of passes keep dropping passes.
c) The PSU transfer receiver that has 165 career catches stays on the bench.
d) All of the above.

In true board tradition you asked about CSB. In only the 5th or 6th reply we have delved into Shorter and George with a heavy bonus round on Carr. If you really wanted to know the status of CSB you should have inquired about Carr.
