What happened to the D in the 4th quarter?

We left their eeceivers wide open. Gave them 15 yds at los if we covered them at all. Don't rewatch this game..Our scheme was bend don't break. See how that worked out.

We play our LBs up to stop the run and they allow the entire middle of the field to be open.

Guys that seem like really good guys but are not elite football talents: 14,0, 43,46.
The Dline is ok, but defensive coordinator does not trust them to make a play so he brings lbs exposing us to simple throws across the middle.

What were the results of the drives 0 was in vs the ones he wasn’t? I could be wrong, but it seemed like every drive that he played, OSU scored a touchdown, whereas they didn’t score a single one when he was on the bench.

What happened is Ohio State adjusted to take advantage of Penn State weaknesses and they simply have another gear when they need it. The only way we would have won this game is kicking a field goal with no time left. I was hoping 31-30 0r 34-33. It was clear when we went up 21-16 Day was going to hit the accelerator and we simply don't have the talent to hang with them.

Sadly we are buried in this division, between Michigan and Ohio State there is no hope. Good luck finding a coach in the country that would want this gig. Going into every season knowing you will never be anything but third place in your own division is getting old.

At this point I’m less worried about playoffs and more concerned about a team that can never put an upset win together. The keys that JF is so locked into don’t mean squat when you fail at the fundamentals every time you’re up against a top team. TO’s, play calling, getting points when you should, punting within the 20, missing easy FGs, leaving the middle wide open, runs up the middle every first down. My gosh they’ve made this game harder than it has to be.

You all held us in check until Day finally decided to cut the bullshit and go up tempo. The drive we put together down 21-16 was up tempo and got CJ into a rhythm. JT Tuimoloao with the strip sack and pick 6 obviously put the game away, but it took us way too long to get into that rhythm. That's a testament to PSU's defense......and Day calling a poor game for 3 quarters.

Just too many weapons in the end. Great showing by PSU. We were lucky that our talent ultimately won out, because it was not the best coached effort for us.

Agree.

Did we get tired or what? Sad performance late.

Well, we turned the ball over 4 times one of which was a pick 6.

Our defense is not as talented as this offense and throughout the game they wore down.

There are a lot of teams that can hang with OSU for a half. We did it for three quarters.

After that, there's only so much 'scheming' you can do with less talent.

Actually 3 1/2 Quarters, PSU was leading by 5 with 9 minutes remaining.

What adjustments are you referring to?

Try 51 minutes. It was on a platter. Bucks were human but for 44, 6, and 18.

He’s so bad it’s actually comical. But again, someone wrote him a mean letter a few years ago so he deserves to play

We played above our level early. Great showing. Is there really anyone that expected to win this game.?????? Seriously, it was only a matter of time. We did great keeping it respectable. We are light years away from competing

Our scheme was to have LBs and DBs attack the LOS in hopes of making an explosive play. That leaves the middle of the field open and our DBs in single coverage.

OSU recruits at another level, but PSU actually out recruits UM so no reason not to beat UM other than coaching.

The strategy of our secondary holding up one on one collapsed. We ran out of gas on all 3 levels. The 35 second drive was pathetic, it could not have been easier for them. It was what we had all feared could happen for the whole game all coming together at once. Then like clockwork the offense imploded on cue. For playing so well for most part of 50 minutes it all collapsed thereafter. The throws to Harrison became absurd after a while like no matter what he is catching a 15-20 yard pass over the middle. At some point you would think we would say just let anyone else beat you but him. They would probably but at least it is not him. The guy had almost 200 yards. Their offense reminded me of KC when they played Buffalo in the playoffs last year. Unless we scored with no time on the clock, they would get the last laugh. They probably could use 1 play and get a FG to beat us with 6-7 seconds left and no timeouts starting at their own 25. We were that clueless and helpless on D in the 4th quarter.

The big picture is do we have any path or hope to ever beat them? It doesn't look like it. They just have better players all over the field.
