What happened with Lewis?

Current class has four 4-stars and thirteen 3-stars. Chryst isn't here any more.

4 low 4 stars (one of which had offers from ECU and Colorado because he has a drug problem, one who won't be academically eligible unless Narduzzi grades his papers, Flowers with offers from Kentucky and Iowa, and George Hill who is good)

7 mid rated 3 stars
6 low rated 3 stars

Not exactly a who's who. Narduzzi is just taking chances on kids who many do not want because of academic or personal issues.

Penn State's class has 7 4 stars

1 high 4 star
2 mid 4 stars
4 low 4 stars

3 high 3 stars
4 mid 3 stars
3 low 3 stars

Do you really believe that Pitt will actually win a conference outright? Has Pitt ever won a conference outright in the past 30 plus years?

Pitt's recruiting class is good for them but doesn't mean shit compared to the top 25.

Don't ever call me a Pitt fan.
It's your compadres over here that called you a Pitt fan.

Half of your "4" stars do not have an offer from the top half of their conference power 5 conference teams. That should tell you something.

And 5 of your commits were stolen away from Toledo.

Maybe it should have been a sign to you that when Christ left and recruited better at Wisconsin that the school, fans, and facilities actually do have something to do with a coaches ability to attract talented athletes.

My personal thought is that there is a divide between the Paterno/O'Brien (especially the Supa Six) recruits and the Franklin recruits. Two cases in point:

1. The Geno Lewis and family "farewell"

2. In the Illinois game, carter throwing a fit because Hack ran the ball for a TD instead of throwing it to him.

In both these cases, younger players are working and putting forth a team effort, the older pre-Franklin recruits were being passed over. This is a catharsis that needs to happen, so this "we miss O'Brien" crowd can move on for players who want to be at PSU and win with Franklin.

Who knows what CJF said to encourage the kid to compete. What could he have promised? A starting spot? It seemed to me that PSU played lots of WR's and that any one, including Lewis, had ample opportunity to excel.

I just wish him well at Oklahoma and hope he still loves the Blue and White. It does look like OU loses 2 or 3 WR's from their 2 deep so he should have the opportunity to prove himself and have a great Senior year. Good for him..

Keep in mind Junie Lewis played one year of BB at Pitt and transferred out due to bitching about PT. His son had 4 years and a free education. He should know that programs have recruits who are subject to competition and talent. Not everyone plays. Davis from Pitt made a mistake. They liked his upside but wanted him to mature both academically and physically. He thinks more of his ability than most do. He was in a better position to be coached up under Narduzzi than moose lodge.

Don't necessarily disagree, however regarding #2, keep in mind that Hack was also an O'Brien recruit.

why is his dad going to social media to trash our staff. His dad claims the coaching staff has been dishonest.

Anyone have the actual backstory and not some sloppy pile of bs that someone like lionlurker would spew? After the Shoop mess, I would like to only hear from those in the know.

I don't know about Geno's dad going on social media but I think Geno's early departure is the fault of the current and prior staffs. PSU used too many scholarships on WRs and not enough on LBs, OL, & DL. At this point it probably makes sense for Lewis to transfer. PSU has plenty of WRs with comparable talent so why not build for the future? I'm just glad that Geno got his degree. Good for him, and good luck to him at Oklahoma.

See, now if I was like this delusional idiot then I definitely understand why you would be upset.

In no way would I ever support the Pitt program. I have definitely hoped for great things for athletes from my area that ended up a Pitt, but there is zero reason to follow a dead program. Make no mistake, Pitt doesn't even exist. I will never forgot those mother f'ers gloating and being happy about the children being harmed because that meant somehow their team might be good. F them.

You are right, but I don't necessarily believe that Hack ever fully accepted the fact that O'Brien was no longer here either. From his "re-commitment" to PSU during the transfer talk after B'OB's departure to the glowing benediction he gave to his old coach in his draft announcement, there is probably enough evidence for this. In the long run, these departures may be a good thing for the program. Only time will tell...
