lebron will retire someday, and it is going to leave a huge void for espn. For over 10 years, rarely a day has gone by where lebron hasn't dominated their home page and sportscenter. Maybe lebron's retirement will kill off espn once and for all.

Forget about that - what will happen to ESPN and the NFL when Tom Brady finally steps away? Who is going to take his place?

You, Lt. Weinberg?

They’ve done it before. MJ, Tiger, Tebow. They attach their horses to whoever gives them the biggest ratings and ride then till they die. When Michael Jordan came out of retirement to play the season opener for the Wizards, it led SportsCenter ahead of game 7 of the Diamondbacks-Yankees World Series.

His son Bronny will save the network.

espn ran a filler on sportscenter this morning on the top 10 nba plays on Christmas Day. Of course, a lebron dunk was #1.

ESPN is spiraling down. They are pretty much dead already, they just don't know it. Politics, disgusting people and poor sports coverage is a death sentence.
Sure hasn't killed talking head propaganda.

He heard about this thread- it hurt his knee (or something). ESPN is covering it.

Not that this guy can be any more overexposed, but lately his over exposure vis-a-vis social commentary is showing him to be uneducated and uninformed. It probably would be wise for him to stick what he knows best, basketball. However, I hope that he keeps spouting off, because maybe that will make ESPN want him to go away faster.

JEWISH. MONEY.

I know he was quoting lyrics, but how could he not know better? He’s been in the limelight quite a while, and he is considered to be intelligent.

James got hurt last night. Right now, the team is saying a groin strain and 'day to day.' However, media is saying he told the trainers that he heard something "pop". He's at that age where the body sometimes goes, even though the mind is willing.

Jordan announced his comeback officially on September 25th, 2001 --- it was supposedly going to happen 2 weeks prior and that was all ESPN and The Today Show and GMA were talking about on that Tuesday morning.

I had Fox Sports Radio on that morning and Tony Bruno said (as a joke initially) "Breaking news: CNN breaking from their 24/7 non stop coverage of Michael Jordan's comeback to show some building on fire."

Bruno soon figured out the seriousness of the situation. But point being, these guys will talk nothing but MJ, LeBron or Tebow outside of pretty unusual circumstances.

Fingers crossed.
