Some might say our deepest position is cornerback, maybe even QB, WR or OLine...but I think we have a tremendous amount of depth at Defensive End, I can't see how we get all that production on the field enough...
Let's first assume that Torrence Brown is still working his way back from injury and Damion Barber has formally moved to DT. Therefore Shareef and Buchholz are the starters...Matos is likely on the second team with Brown when he is healthy, does that mean that even though they are now redshirt sophomores that Simmons and Shaka are still 3rd team as well as 3rd down and long pass rush specialists? Where does Daniel Joseph factor in as another third year player with a high ceiling (if he is healthy).
This is he luxury we have that allows both Parsons and Tarburton to fight for MLB reps rather than perhaps their more natural DE positions.
Oh and by the way, every one of those guys can come back next year aside from Brown meanwhile we will have Oweh and Culpepper coming off Redhsirts...we could have a legitimate 4 Deep come next year...
What do you guys think? Does Joseph sticknaround after spring ball? Does Buchholz leave a year of eligibility on the table and jump the the NFL after this next year? Does Culpepper and one of the other guys move to DT? Can Simmons or Toney fill a linebacker gap?
