What is the word on Triston Law?

Could he improve our 133 situation?
Marginally, if he can beat out Carpenter.

He was 6-6 on the Opens circuit last year (at 141) and has not yet wrestled this year. And 133 is a very good, very deep weight both in conference and nationally.

He would need to pull a significant upset at B10s to qualify for nationals. Then if he did, he would be unseeded with his fate determined by a random draw.

A hyper-optimistic forecast would be qualifying for nationals, having his random draw put him into the pigtail match against another unseeded wrestler, winning that, losing to a seeded wrestler, and then winning once in consolations -- which is 1.5 points.

Until we see him on the mat this year, given how strong B10 133 is, his odds of qualifying at all seem low. But we'll see.

Yes. It will be an upgrade but nothing great....Now Cassar at 97 could be a bigger upgrade....He could score some good needed points at Nationals....IMO

Agreed. But it's coming down to cases...if Cassar wins in the room, and then Cael makes that call, it has to be fairly soon. I don't know how many they will take from the B1G at 33, I am guessing it will be 7. If it's 7, then I think Law has a shot. If it's 6, he needs to pull a major upset. Same goes for George C, also, of course.

With that all said, I love the fight in Carpenter: He represents the Penn State way, very well, and that kid was SHOOTING on Cory Clark in the third period, just 2 points from getting tech falled. Cael loves that.

Yes. I know Triston very well...My son probably wrestled him 5 or 6 times going back to when they started wrestling...Forest Hills is in our District....

District 6. I'm quite familiar also...;)

Here is Law against Pipa from Bishop McDevitt a few years ago at Hershey.

Triston will have the spot when given the opportunity....

My son wrestled Pipa as well...Remember now Triston has been in the room going on 3 years now !!!! He is a lot better....

Absolutely, I should have put an asterisk on this, but I included it so that it could be more clear how long Law is. Two years in THIS room and there is zero question he is a totally different wrestler.

Law is a RS freshman, right? So he is in the middle of his second wrestling season at PSU. In other words, 3 years is about double the actual time Law has spent in the PSU program. Right?

I should know better than to dispute anything with Spyker, since "facts" usually are not relevant in such discussion. So I'll probably end up regretting this.

Not knowing where Forest Hills is, could it be that he was going to the room during his last couple years in high school?

Forest Hills is about an hour and a half away from State College. Certainly not impossible, but a little far on a school night. We used to go practice with PSU on Sundays, however. Got my head kicked in by Sonny Abe on numerous occasions between 1992 and 1995.

Law belonged to Young Guns. Forest Hills is about 15-20 min from UPJ, where Strittmatter coaches.

Those are alternative facts, which I understand can get you pretty far in life nowadays.
