Henry Kissinger once said (I paraphrase) Iran isn’t so much a country as it is a cause.

Iran’s mullahs view the United States as the great Satan. They are hell bent on our destruction. They’ve said as much. To the Iranian mullahs everything else is secondary, to include the very existence of the State of Israel. Today Iran seizes our navy vessels in international waters. Tomorrow they hold the rest of the world hostage via ‘the bomb’. So the question becomes how to slow down Iran’s uranium enrichment until calmer heads prevail within the country.

I fear an Israeli-style commando raid will only steel their resolve. It’s like throwing gasoline on a fire. An alternative is to deprive Iran of critical resources which, in turn, foments revolution from within. We were on the cusp of that until Obama’s “Breaking Bad-style” money transfer; a midnight run executed embarrassingly just to appease his pro-Muslim ideology, however misguided it may be.

The experts claim Iran will have ‘the bomb’ as well as ICBMs within eight years. Eight years might be enough time to install a secular alternative to leadership by the radical mullah. And so today your decision is to play the odds of it happening; that is, to either short nuclear Armageddon or go long on Iranian detente. Everything else is secondary, to include the next quarterly earnings report. Plan accordingly.
