commitment from your key people, esp. when you're tasked with rebuilding it. Been there, done that. In James' case, he needs coordinators who are committed at least to the point they're not dallying with lateral moves every year. If a HC opportunity comes up...understand...godspeed. But, c'mon...Shoop considers a lateral to LSU after his first season...seriously enough that James issues a bat signal when he deigns...in connection with a substantial raise, IIRC...to grace us with his presence for another year. He follows that up with another lateral dalliance at the end of his second season. Coaches constantly preach commitment to their players...rings a little hollow in light of this pattern of behavior. The guy...barring a HC opportunity...is either in or he isn't. If the latter, then get the hell out...don't care how "well regarded" he is. JMO.
