A lot of people who live on the West Coast hail from families who started in the Midwest. I am one of them. The accent is, I believe, called a "Mid-American" accent. Think Tom Brokaw...

Just wondering.... what did you answer to get West coast? I had my kids take it and they both got North East as well..
The only ones I remember are the SUB/hoagie and SODA/pop questions. My answers are highlighted in CAPS and I've used all of these terms over the years. A much more accurate test I've seen is where your pronunciations of certain words are tested.

Reared in Lancaster County but have lived in Philadelphia for 45 years.

I was once in Jamaica wearing my Penn State cap ands guy told me he could guess what part of PA I was from. His guess was King of Prussia.

Wierd....we used to have them in a little shitty Creek by my house. I've always known them as crawfish.

Well for me it was a Crick (that probably should have been on the list too) and they were always crabs.
Also Hoagies not subs. LOL.
I have heard people from my area call them crawdads though but mostly everyone called them crabs.

Grew up in Connecticut, went to Penn State, and have lived in NoVA since. Pegged me to West Coast! I've forgotten what I called some things. Also, TV remotes didn't exist growing up, and I called big sandwiches grinders, not a given choice.
