which is worse? Us to have 3 downs or them to have 5??

seems Refs get things wrong from time to time, so what would you rather, Refs to give us 3 downs, or the Refs give the others 5 downs? ( UM vs Colorado some years back?) Like the other team goes for it on 4th, doesnt make it, so they punt on 5th. it has happened.

or with having instant replay, have them actually go back and count the downs and get it right. This is why we have instant replay, correct?

Repay is fairly limited in college football.

Supposedly, the field officials confirmed with replay officials who also said 4th down. Counting plays has to be the least controversial call if you actually rely on replay versus just looking at the incorrect down marker from the previous play.

Bad enough if the down marker man makes a mistake, but pretty inexcusable for none of the refs plus replay officials to not only not catch it but confirm the wrong down.
