Great win against War Eagle last night. One large difference on talent that I think we all saw was Auburn’s two RBs vs. Penn State’s RB room. Auburns backs accelerate into the hole, make the first guy miss or break first contact. Our RBs? Not so much. Our RB room was supposed to be a key strength this year. What’s happening? I don’t think it’s the OL. My comments:
1. Cain: good so far, but missing that first quick step and hitting the hole at speed like he did before his injury. Maybe it will take a few more games?
2. Keyvon: we all love the guy and runs in beast mode but questions about ball security remain.
3. Lovett: finally sees the field against Auburn but not used much yet.
4. Ford: enough breakaway speed? but did well last year.
QUESTIONS:
5. where is Caziah Holmes? Wasn’t he supposed to be Saquon Jr.? He did ok last year and I think he turned Some heads in last years Blue-White game.
6. also haven’t seen the backs being the check down option for Clifford yet. That may come in handy against Osu and Iowa blitzing defenses.
7. Why not keep one guy in the game long enough to get enough touches so that he can get a feel for the game?
