D. Pitt
E. Notre Dame
F. MSU

Just in general, which one of these teams losing a given game provides you with the greatest amount of schadenfreude? Assume that PSU is not a participant in the game. My guess is that it's roughly in the order I listed them, but I'm curious to find out.

Tie c and d. The others I like to be good, unless we need them to lose for our record, so it's better when we play them and win.

A. tOSU
B. UM
C. Rutgers
D. Pitt
E. Notre Dame
F. MSU

For now- OSU. However, we've become desensitized to the Michigan arrogance given their losing streak to PSU that ended last year and the fact they've been so bad the 'Walmart Wolverine' component of their fan base base has shut up and stayed away from here. If they ever get good again, they will give OSU a run for their money in this poll IMO.

As for Pitt- they lose so often that the schadenfreude has sort of warn off. ;)

B through D lose often enough that just one loss doesn't provide any extra amount of joy for me. A and F I want to do well, except against PSU, as they are in-conference. So, by process of elimation, it would have to be E. Notre Dame.

First, I would eliminate all our BigTen brothers, OSU, UM, Rutgers, and MSU. I know from what I have read on this Board that what's good for the conference is good for us and that any BigTen team losing is almost as bad as us losing. Throw in the unwavering support these schools, and their fans, gave us during the Sandusky Scandal and I simply would not want any of them to lose unless they were playing us. That leaves Notre Dame and Pitt. It's difficult to root against a team like Pitt that brings so much history (83 National Championships) to the table, so I will eliminate them as well. That leaves Notre Dame and not many realize we have played them 19 times with each team winning 9 and 1 game ending in a tie. How can you root against a team that has played you dead even and has no player names on their uniforms. It would be like wanting a brother to lose. That makes my choice one that is not given...."None of the above". No sir. Unless they are playing us, I want every team listed to win every game. No exceptions. I love em all.

ND, then OSU a close second. The rest I could care less if they live or die.

I begrudgingly feel the same way. If I had to list teams I'd like to see lose it would look something like this:

FSU
Alabama
LSU
Oregon
USC
Oklahoma
Florida
Texas
TA&M

Pitt -- they always lose so ugly. Love to see them lose to Youngstown State or Toledo. All 7 fans in attendance have long faces.

A. tOSU
B. UM
C. Rutgers
D. Pitt
E. Notre Dame
F. MSU

Have to say I root against EVERY Big 10 team (excluding Rutgers and Maryland). But mostly OSU and Michigan :)

Notre Dame - because of their subway alums
Oregon - they are arrogant

Living and practicing law in Dayton it would be OSU. I live every day with buckeye bullshat

Notre Dame. Every loss turns down the hype machine a notch.

Funny stuff !

I'd take MSU off that list and add Maryland, FSU, and Illinois. I know Illinois loses a lot anyway but each loss is one more nail in Beckman's coffin. Once he's gone, they would no longer be on the list.

Well, I'm convinced. Sound logic.

;)

Pitt and Rutgers losing is just such a normal thing, It doesn't even create a blip on the radar. I really don't have anything against MSU.

I would say:
A. UM
B. tOSU
C. Notre Dame
D. Pitt
E. Rutgers
F. MSU

I think depends on where you live...

Before I moved to Baltimore I would say A & D (lived in Pittsburgh), now that I live here A, C and UMD.

Seriously never realized how many Butgers fans live here. But when the BOT scandal hit they came out of the woodwork like termites and cockroaches. Since UMD did well in Basketball and the squeaked out that win in football last year, and did well in LAX and Baseball their fans have become even more annoying. My wife is a UMD grad, and a Ravens season ticket holder... I'm a PSU grad and a Pittsburgh Steelers fan, all I can say is life was 'fun and interesting' prior to UMD's move to the BIG, now life is a lot more interesting. Never realized how much of a sports fan she is... and her cousin is getting married on Oct 24th... WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For me, it's none of the above. In my experience, there's nobody worse than WVU fans -- and that includes Pitt. I could never root for WVU under any circumstances.

Like a smorgasboard of disdain ... but I personally would not have MSU on the list.

1. Pitt - a loss by these guys always generates much happiness. When they really screw it up, I become catatonic with glee. Sorry, but I'm old school and from Pittsburgh area.

2. UM - they personify the conference arrogance.

3. ND - the good Sisters of Divine Providence trained Dibbs pretty well, but they never had to deal with an arrogant self serving jerk like Kelly as a coach.

Brief comment - the third Saturday of September when ND plays UM is especially difficult for Dibbs. One of them has to win.

4. tOSU - but they are a distant fourth. Losses in Columbus are like Armageddon.

5. Rutgers - If I lived in NJ, maybe they'd be higher. Going to take a lot more Rutgers to get me to truly dislike them.

I enjoy it when ND loses....being in the NY/NJ area it is unbelievable how many "fans" of ND there are around here that know nothing about the school at all

My two favorite teams are Penn state and whoever is playing Pitt. Whoever is playing Ohio State would be my third favorite team.

A. tOSU
B. UM
C. Rutgers
D. Pitt
E. Notre Dame
F. MSU

Definitely O$U.
B, C, and D lose often enough that it isn't special enough anymore. E is enough of a "has-been" that I really don't care about them. And F: their "rivalry" with us never felt right. In fact, I like Sparty. I hope they're 11-1, with the only loss coming from us every year.
