Wow, the only way it could have been better tonight was Suriano being our 6th champion. Anyway, let's get to the meat of day 3 (my wife actually was impressed, hope you are too Mike Evans)

149 - Zain, 4 tech falls and a pin. I did feel a little bit bad about him abusing my grandfather in the finals. (You're a good guy Mayes)

157 - Nolf, 2tfs, 2mds, 1 fall. He just makes it look so easy.

165 - Cenzo, Holy mother of Jesus! (I need to ask for forgiveness again...) I'm biased on this one. He gets my vote for taking down a world class wrestler in IMar.

174 - Hall avenging his loss against BoJo. Classy kid. Thank you for being the face of Minnesota wrestling (shout out to Jammies)

184 - Bo knows epic wins! Taking down a 2 time champion. Only Penn State fans predicted this (or should I say real Penn State fans?) Anyway, my family's favorite wrestler.

The Coaches - so blessed with talented wrestlers, all they need to do is just watch the championships roll in...

Edit: this poll allows for 2 votes.

Very, very well done :)

An just think, I am sure Martinez, Massa, and Valencia will keep training also. As I know so will the Penn State wrestlers. There our no for sure things. Enjoy this year! But next year is never a given.

Two thoughts:
1. I suggest that you edit the Subject line (who cares if it's the 2nd try). This is a good poll, and your comments were excellent. I think with a different Subject line it would attract more attention.
2. As LemonPie asked, what is the question being answered in the poll. You should be able to edit the poll to enter a question

This has great potential -- just needs a few tweaks

In a very close one, I went with Bo over VinJo by less than a whisker. If Gabe Dean had won that match, he would have won the Hodge - he also would have legitimately been considered one of the great NCAA wrestlers of all-time with 4 NCAA Finals appearances, 3 NCs and a Runner-up finish. Bo just beat one of the all-time greats and severely damped his legacy.

all-time greats -- I concur. Dean finished 3rd, 1st, 1st, 2nd

damped his legacy -- not as sure of that. Being a 3-timer would have put him in the upper echelon. But not being a 3-timer doesn't diminish his legacy all that much, IMHO. DT finished 2, 1, 2, 1 -- not much different than Dean. His legacy remains pretty high. I suspect Dean's will remain very high -- just not as high as it could have been (which may have been all you were arguing)

Even a "Half-Wisk" can see the greatness in those two stellar upsets.

Great moments in Penn State Wrestling history.

Thanks. I fixed the thread title. (I think I lost a few brain cells last night...)

I would have liked to vote for "all of the above", but since that wasn't an option I went with the guys who knocked off two timers.
Thanks U2BE for letting us know that we can vote for two people and not just one!

I just went back to "change my vote" and voted for both Nickal and Joseph. Before that, I voted as did Franklin for Nickal over Joseph.

Yep, that's all I was saying. I happen to think Dean has tremendous upside even at the next level -- personally I think he is a better "wrestler" than I-Mar, especially in regards to potential in the International disciplines. Bo just took out an all-timer (but who knows, when it is all said and done, people may look back at that match and ponder that it was between a 2, 1,1,1 guy and a 3,1,1,2 guy!!! Reminds me a little of Nate Carr winning 3 NCAA Individual Titles with the last two coming against Kenny Monday - a fellow 1988 Olympic Team member of Nate's and an Olympic Gold Medalist!!!).

How about..... "WHO MADE YOU SCREAM THE LOUDEST" Poll? Without a doubt in my house Vincenzo :)

IMO, feet to back moves are the most exciting in wrestling and a Rfr against a 2 time champ....they just don't happen that often, I don't know if it has ever happened before, but I was going nuts. Cenzo gets my vote, I think Imar was gassed before the end of the second period.

When a team goes 5-0 in the NCAA semi-finals AND finals, defeats three undefeated wrestlers, and defeats two 2x National Champs, I gotta chose the coaches for one vote. This was a TOTAL TEAM EFFORT like none I've ever seen before.

I picked Cenzo for my second vote because of the five Champs I would have chosen him the most likely to not win it all prior to this championship tournament. Also because he pinned Martinez as that might be my favorite match of the entire year!
