Not a whole lot of recruiting news lately and the season is still a couple months away so during this "slow time", I figured I'd put this out there for discussion.
Mine was Shane Conlan. This was a guy who was lightly recruited and then turned out to be one of the best linebackers in Penn State history. Every few years, when jersey numbers get passed on from a kid who left the program to a new freshmen, I check out the roster to see who is wearing his old number. My dog was named "Shane" and I still love going back and watching the Miami Fiesta Bowl just to watch the way he played in that game.
Unfortunately, or fortunately depending on how you look at it, I was too young to remember some of the earlier greats (late 60s to early 70s) but I do recall a bit of Cappaletti but I have no memories of Ham or some of the phenominal l-backers from back in the day. So who is your favorite and why?
