I don't find SNL funny anymore. No, I'm not one of those people that say SNL has sucked ever since Belushi & Aykroyd left. In fact I thought SNL was pretty darn good, with periodic ups and down, up until about 5-10 years ago when PC culture became overbearing. But I make myself watch it each week up through Weekend Update because I like staying in touch with what's on it.
Well Larry David hosted this week and I laughed more at his monologue that I usually laugh at five entire SNL episodes combined. And yet now I see that on Twitter people are outraged at how offensive it was. Our outrage culture is killing humor.
In case you didn't see it, the bit that made me laugh so much was Larry wondering whether men in concentration camps in Nazi Germany hit on the women in the camps and then going through what it might be like. Incredibly, people on Twitter seem to think that equates with approving of the Holocaust.
