Well Alex did finish 5th once at the NCAAs. That probably compares pretty favorably to well you know Jake didn't win nationals at least twice, and after winning his Olympic gold the next time he got beat out by some kid.
My twins when they were 7 could take the single, most narrow of all possible points and offer strong logic based reasoning validating their preferred outcome. My twins at 7, would have rolled their eyes at HR.

There were snow flurries here in johnstown on May 19th about 8 -10 years ago as well... not quite sure which year. I know because it's my birthday and remember it snowing.
