Wow, no wonder James is a finalist for COTY: 2nd in the conference with only 1 player worthy of the all-league team.
I imagine either Day or Orgeron will get it. Orgeron already won one, and I think he's deserving. I like the guy. He seems like the real deal as far as the way he treats his players. Day inherited a great team, but didn't have any lapses like Urban did the last two years, though he's mostly doing it with Urban's players. But Franklin did one heckuva job this year IMO. I think if we'd beaten Minnesota he might have had a chance due to what he was starting with vs the others.

Orgeron was fried from Ole Miss after three terrible years and after his team literally looted the hotel rooms of guests on Friday nights. He’s a known bagman. He was the recruiting coordinator at USC when Bush got paid. Find better guys to like.

Total 1st and 2nd teamers

tOSU - 14
Minny- 5
PSU- 6
Can’t be accurate. According to the Franklin and Rahne haters our talent was just as good as OSU. Bad coaching always does us in. Stuck with a mediocre 10-2 record

Well, we hired him because he can do more with less. Here's the less. Where's the more. :p

If you think his record at PSU is “the less” then you are clueless and/or just a sorry Franklin hater. His name comes up annually each year for other coaching jobs because he’s a bad coach.

We are slowly passing Michigan and catching up to OSU , patience. Probably wouldn't hurt to look at some midwestern O-linemen, either.

I don’t see that we are closing the gap on OSU. This year’s game was the least competitive of the past four and their 2020 class is pretty impressive. Nine Top 100 recruits including four WRs. They are also off to a faster start for 2021 incl the #2 QB

Then i guess they'll have a lot of 4 and 5 star players content with being bench warmers. Their QB room wasn't too happy last year how FORNUTATE Fields was looking to transfer, we'll see, i'm optimistic.

CJF continues to narrow the gap- I believe he will close it soon enough.

That some of our "fans" continue to underrate him says more about them than it does about him.

Oh that couldn’t be true. Franklin is a turrible coach; just ask his many detractors.
Well to be fair, some of his "but" fans are willing to give him conditional support....they stress that he has much to learn.

I hate the constant argument. Some people have questioned some game day play calling and perhaps being overly committmed to his assistants. Hardly anybody questions his work ethic or his overall record. I think 90% of fans are glad to see CJF get a contract renewal.

A lot of the frustration comes from Franklin being 1-5 vs OSU, including a couple where PSU blew 4th quarter leads. Other BiG teams are in the same situation. Ask Michigan & Wisconsin. But who would be better than Franklin? I'm glad we have him.

Are we closing the gap on OSU? I'm not so sure. That was the point of the original post. PSU is playing at a consistently high level but OSU continues to have our number on the field and and in recruiting. That includes this year. OSU ranked #2, PSU ranked #10. Recruiting: OSU #4 (three 5* players), Michigan 7th, PSU 12th. Going from great to elite isn't easy.
