Will they close the roof?

Maybe this is a silly question, but will the roof be opened or closed on Lucas Oil Stadium? There is no rain in the forecast. The stadium's Wiki page quotes the NFL rules for closing the roof as having a 40 degree cutoff. The last forecast I looked at said a high of 41 on Saturday.

Does anyone have an insights into this?

Very interesting, so the roof fluctuates as the temperature fluctuates. Didn't know there were rules on the roof positions.

it will be closed, they don't want weather to play any role in this game. Not like 41F is horrible to watch a game in, but 70F is much better and why screw around with a freak rain storm or wind when you can close the roof and have perfect conditions.

Of course, for example, if the home team is a running team and they're playing a great passing team, they may choose to leave the roof open when its raining or very cold.
I see, since the game temperature will be below the 40 deg. mark, the stadium personnel will have the option of the roof position. It should still be fairly comparable if the stadium in enclosed on all sides. I guess that is why people are thinking "white out" clothing in lieu of winter clothes.

Penn State is the home team in this game.

The rule I quoted were the NFL rules. Although we are the home team, it is not our home stadium so it isn't our choice. I was just giving an example of why they have the rule.

It's a night game. It will be colder than the high of 41. They will close the roof.

My daughter is driving in from Madison, are we still confident the roof will be closed? She was wondering...

thanks

I could be wrong but I don;t think that stadium has a retractable roof.
