Yeah, I use them. They're basically a small, mostly rural landline company, broke off from Alltel, offer internet service and some other things. Generally reliable and customer-oriented.
I subscribed to a local internet provider for 15 years and it was acquired by Windstream. I was absolutely unable to get customer service. I would go days without email service and spent an hour or two on more than one occasion trying to get it resolved on the phone. In one case I was transferred to about seven different people when the last person I was transferred to was the first person I talked to. I changed to Verizon Fios because of the service. Funny thing, I changed providers last February and stopped paying, but I still get email on the old address. They did an inexcusable job of rolling the acquired company into their operations.
