With so much emphasis on some guy named Barkley this year....

Nope, they're moving forward prior to the snap. In the situation you keep stating - 10-men up in matched-up-man coverage on receivers with ONE SAFETY back in a "2-deep look" to one side - PSU would ABSOLUTELY go to the one of the PASS OPTIONS on the Run-Pass Option Play Called (again, all of JoMo's plays have both a Run or Pass OPTION associated with them depending on what the QB sees the defense doing just before and at the snap!). Specifically, TM would go to a PASS OPTION that appears to have a "mismatch" in coverage to the "empty side" of the field (i.e., the side of the field that does not have the Safety-Help back) -- IOW, precisely what PSU did on the play in the BCG that I linked the video to....

You keep implying that PSU didn't go to SB on the wheel-route AFTER THE SNAP from the RB position down the sideline of the empty-side of the field because they saw Watt ISOLATED in man-coverage against him with no deep help......and you couldn't be more wrong, no matter how many times you keep repeating the same wrong inanity!
SMH. Can you not understand that I don't care how Wisky played it? That the way Wisky played is not analogous to way 10 up is played?
That if I have ever gap filled pre snap, that the DB are in press I doubt he checks to the wheel
A 9 maybe , TE delay w max protect maybe and if u want to throw the wheel I think I'll get to you. Provided I come, but I could back out and the play zone

Well thanks for the intelligent answer. But we will agree to disagree
A first rd draft choice should have the ability to shuffle over and get a hit on SB, or turn and run with him better than what he did ,imo. The c to the field was in press, tough to run the out vs that. He did have the slot if he wanted as despite what Buschwood says, the DB was 8 yds off of him
Disagree vs the S. If he looks at the snap, SB is taking offf , imo he should have jumped the wheel as PSU used it before. Beside the ball is close or on the near hash, I'll take my chances on TS making the long hard throw to far hash , deep
But if you can make those arguments, unlike Buschwood, you will also know who ever has the chalk last wins!!!

Hamilton was running a shallow crossing route and Godwin was running a post. So there was a lot going on over the middle. If the safety immediately bailed to help on the wheel then Godwin probably scores pretty easy on the post. And that does not even account for Gesicki who was working his way up the hash. We just caught them in a bad situation. I know Watt is a first round LB. While Watt can probably blow past Barkley in pass blocking Watt has little shot covering Barkley in the open field.

I agree the shallow cross was wide open. Poor tech by Wisky imo, I thought the corner had the post pretty well covered late, Gesicki was well covered. I think TS was going to the wheel the whole time , otherwise he'd taken the cross. Further if Watt had his inside foot up (instead of his outside foot) he could have more easily turned and run with SB especially if he had just stepped a little with his inside foot his shoulders would have been able to stay square making it easier to shuffle over to hit SB or turn and run with him

Now this is all about what Wisky did, which I never carried about , Buschwood tried to push it there I asked him what he would do vs 10 up D. He thought they were playing that which they weren't. As you know it looks like they probably were in man free with the 2 inside lbers blitzing w Watt coming off on SB. They gambled and were burned

Nothing like two tards battling it out for supremacy.

Congrats sluggowood and Bushie. May the best tard win!

That would be you.

How many nicknames are you up to now, pnny?

You're the biggest tard of them all. Sluggowood and Bushie are battling it out for #2. You're so far ahead of those two--it's a Jerry Rice-like lead.

Think about him home alone just sitting there creating handles for his imaginary battles online. LOL. I heard they are talking about Jerry on PL....that can tie him up for a while.

Hey at least it's a football discussion. One nice thing about thread view, you don't have to participate.
Do you have anything to add??
At least Buschwood can get play checkers, which from your comments , you can't.
So join in with some football, you might learn something

Sluggowood and Bushwood. Two peas in a pod!

I just wonder how much more Trace can do in year #2 in this system. I can only imagine him seeing the safety cheating down early and boom....JJ over the top. I think his numbers could actually go up this year while SB's could take a dip and it won't be due to talent obviously. This offense seems to be setup so that you take what they give you and not so much imposing your will on a defense.

I expect a sophomore swoon from SM. All eyes are on O Line coach Lime Grower. With a running back like SB we should be able to use the running game to setup the pass. Now I'm not asking for Wisky-style run blocking. All I'm asking for is a modicum of improvement over last year. Failing that we run Lime Grower out of town on a rail! The pressure is on.

Apparently you missed the 2 years before last year.

Doubtful the pressure is on. PSU biggest problem will be keeping him from the NFL
