Quick question. Are falls weighted the same in all weight classes?

Just asking as I noticed Mike Hughes climbs 2 spots in the rankings this week, while Jordan Wood falls 3 despite Wood winning EIWA's over Hughes. I know Hughes is a prolific pinner, was wondering if this is a factor.

285s, I would guess, have the lowest amounts of MD and TFs of any weight class. Again, just a guess, but I would think that most matches end in DECs, followed in number by FALLs. Not sure that a pin indicates the same dominance in this weight class that it might have at say, 157. Also, a 10-2 MD decision at 285 often indicates the same type of dominance that a TF might at another weight. Again, JMO.

Very good points, unfortunately, they are weighted the same as other weights, which could skew things slightly, like you said. That would take quite the algorithm change...

Yes, I get it.

285 is a very different animal in many ways. Many rip the weight class because it is not wrestled like the other classes, but I have a different opinion. It takes a different but still special skill set to excel here, so my expectations of the type of wrestling are different. Something as simple as an escape can be a monumental task compared to other weights after a mat return. The physics of the weight class are different and guys at the top of the class are just as special, in a different way, than wrestlers at other weights.
