Good morning to all those interested - it's a big day for PSU wrestling. The season gets started (unofficially) with media day this afternoon from 2-3 p.m., so I'll have coverage from that throughout the next day or two. Head coach Cael Sanderson speaks in the Rec Hall media room at 2, and then some of the wrestlers will be interviewed in the practice room. If there's a specific question or anything that you want me to look into, leave it in this thread and I'll check it out.
Also, maybe burying the lead here, but the nation's No. 1 recruit - Mark Hall from Apple Valley, Minn. - is announcing his college decision today around 3:30 p.m. ET (2:30 CT). He'll be choosing between Penn State, Arizona State, Minnesota, Ohio State and Wisconsin.
As I've written here previously, I'm expecting Hall to choose the Nittany Lions. He made his official visit to PSU Oct. 10-11 and there was rumor shortly thereafter that he gave his verbal commitment while he was on campus or soon after leaving it. Today, in an advance article from TwinCities.com, Hall says he made his decision about a month ago. The article also states that he has already informed the coaches involved of his choice. Since those rumors initially surfaced, by the way, I've only heard more positive reports in favor of PSU. As always with recruiting of any sport, things can change, so let's wait for Hall's announcement before anything becomes official, but I'm anticipating good news for PSU.
