I hope this doesn't come across as promotional, but just to give a little credit where it is due...

The company I work for, ChemTreat, Inc., has an outreach committee which solicits requests for donations to worthy causes. Apparently, I made WFL sound worthy. Just goes to show when you believe in something, it's pretty easy to make it sound good.

I just received an email from one of our company's Outreach Committee members. Rather than going the "match the board" route, the committee awarded a flat donation of $1,000 to Wrestling for Life!!!

She indicated that the checks would be going out this week. So, Cowboy and Jim, please be on the lookout for that check, and add it to BWI's total.

Tom McAndrew: I don't want to overstep any bounds here and be commercial, but I also wouldn't feel right not at least asking if it would be okay to give some credit to my company. Okay to post their name and a short blurb?

I have bought Asics, Adidas, Brute, Matman, and Nike. I generally buy whatever is on clearance to try to get the biggest bang for the buck. I think Jim has a deal with someone and gets the best deal overall on Asics. All would be good! Maybe NLWC has a contract with a company that could be leveraged?

We have not had much luck with direct contact at Asics or Adidas and I just can't bring myself to contact Nike because of Phil Knight's involvement with the elimination of Oregon wrestling. Twice, I have received offers through my local dealer to buy 100 pairs of Asics at half price, but neither time did we have enough cash on hand to avail ourselves of the offer. The second drawback was that we had to take a grab bag of sizes.

We received a $3,500 R.E.A.C.H.E.S. grant in 2016 and are now eligible for another one. I have applied and am confident that we will get one. If so, we will be able to purchase $3,500 worth of shoes from their preferred vendor.

I'm sorry for the slow responses to your posts. This is WFL's busiest time of the year. We made our camp scholarship applications available Sunday and the first week in May I will begin offering shoes to middle schools via all of our media outlets. Thank you all for what you have done.
