Women’s wrestling is definitely the future of this great sport. Still surprised PIAA hasn’t found this to be an opportunity like other states have.

Really? The PIAA seems like it is trying it's best to kill boys wrestling. I still get the feeling that the PIAA is an old boys network that believes, despite all evidence to the contrary, that girls should not be wrestling. I am not a fan of the PIAA.

Hot Take: I would love for HS Women's wrestling to be Freestyle. Their collegiate style is freestyle, anyway. I know it's a pipe-dream.

True story. I’m at a burger joint down here in southwest Florida last week and the17 year old girl taking my order is in a sling. Having numerous dislocations myself I asked her if it was a dislocation. She said yes. I told her I got my first four wrestling and her eyes light up telling me that’s how she got hers. We had a great conversation and she was all about rehabbing and getting back on the mat next year.

Missouri just completed the Wonder Woman Classic that featured 62 High Schools and 506 female wrestlers. It’s one of the larger tourneys in the country for female wrestling.
