At 70 KG, Nolf should get the #2 seed and be situated opposite Green. Hard to believe that Deakin is in Final X and neither Green nor Nolf. Nolf completely dismantled Deakin in the folkstyle dual. Something like 8 takedowns. Green has scored most of his points against Nolf in running him out of bounds and getting a 4 point move with extremely questionable back exposure. Nolf needs to adjust to play the edges a bit savvier, I think. Also wrestle Pantaleo a bit differently perhaps. Looking forward to these rematches. Hoping Nolf comes out a-blazin' and sends a message to the field and Deakin.

70 kg Qualifiers WTT
Final X: 2019 U.S Open Champion - Ryan Deakin (Chicago-RTC)

2018 Senior Men’s Freestyle World Team member – James Green (Sunkist Kids)

2018 U23 Men’s Freestyle World Team member – Hayden Hidlay (Wolfpack RTC)

2018 Junior Men’s Freestyle World Team member – Brady Berge (Nittany Lion WC)

2019 NCAA Division I champion – Jason Nolf (157 pounds) (Nittany Lion WC)

2019 NCAA Division I champion – Anthony Ashnault (149 pounds) (NJRTC)

2019 Dave Schultz highest placer – Frank Molinaro (Titan Mercury WC/OKRTC)

U.S. Open fourth - Alec Pantaleo (Michigan)

U.S. Open fifth - Brandon Sorenson (Hawkeye WC)

U.S. Open sixth - Nazar Kulchytskyy (Minnesota Storm)

U.S. Open seventh - Jason Chamberlain (Valley RTC)

2019 Northeast Regional highest placer

Thanks
Yeah Deakin is an anomaly, I would take Nolf, (a different) Green,Frank (if he chooses 70), hell, even Hidlay to beat Deakin.

Deakin earned his spot, now go take it away is what I would tell the challenger that survives the World Team Trials.

Happens too often, not giving a guy credit, and instead trying to excuse away his success. Beat him on the mat, best-of-three, at Final X.

I wouldn't want to take anything away from Deakin, who earned the spot, and yes he is a better freestyler than folkstyler. But Nolf is the better wrestler of the two, hands down.

If I'm betting at even odds, I'll take Nolf or Green, for sure. Deakin has an easier path though.

Bro, Deakin can go. He's got Brewer and others training like he is for the Final X piece. Riding a wave of confidence.

I'm just saying it's no longer a surprise when he beats elite Senior level guys.

Man kind of hard to believe Joey McKenna won the Open last year and doesn’t even qualify for Final X this year.

Or even WTT, yet. Pyles confirmed on FRL yesterday that he will be going to the Last Chance tourney though.

Kinda tough weight class...

You’re moving the goal posts with your little bet.

I’m not playing your little game.

You called a Junior Worlds Silver Medalist an anomaly.

.... basically a “luck box.”

And I’ll eat crow (I have acquired quite a taste recently) if necessary, but at least I had the balls to make a pick.

Cmon Roar, cmon you can do it, just for fun, its the offseason man, CHOOSE A SIDE
Sure, I'll always root for the PSU guy to win. At the end of the day though, it's who's representing our country that gets my support, and if it's not Nico, Jason, Bo, DT, or any of the multitude of ex-PSU'ers that come out of the NLWC or wherever, that's ok with me. Wrestlers get what they've earned (DT, for example), and I believe our guys will have much success over the coming years. Very much looking forward to that, on several levels.

I don't feel a particular need to "choose a side". I guess my DNA is different than yours, and the baiting won't work.

By not choosing a side, you have actually chose a side, it’s a start.:D

Balls ?

As founder of the “Ryan Deakin is an overrated POS hack despite a WORLD JUNIOR SILVER MEDAL” Fan Club, you’re waaay to emotionally involved for me to reply or care anymore.

Enjoy your day on the interwebs.

Your words, not mine. Relax pup, I have nothing against Deakin.

Yes. RUSH is a big reason for my hearing loss. And AC/DC.

Im with ya, slightly favored Triumph over Rush but AC/DC is in my top 5.
Metallica is the reason for my hearing loss, weightlifting is the reason for my poor posture, Jim Beam the reason for my red nose, and Tracy Lords the reason for my tennis elbow.

All I know is that I had a blast on these boards during Junior Worlds the year that Deakin assisted in them winning the team title.

Nice, condescending and name calling in one post. Neither of those things help get whatever point it is you are trying to make.

By shortening “diggerpup” to “pup” is name-calling?? My, how sensitive

Do you also get offended when someone shortens your name to just “ NoVa”?
