Didn't we hear the weak weight class stuff with DT, too.

The only guy he (maybe) beats out of a list of worthies (watch out for Lance Palmer!!!!) is the only Penn Stater in the list.

I guess the Ohio State guy missed when he beat the unbeatable 23 year old junior Logan Stieber as a skinny freshman. Oh that's right - average refs and such.

Some of them are reduced to cheering for Aaron Pico and Kyle Dake because their own guys get buried by our wrestlers.

I saw it too amigo. It is just nuts. They are actually attempting to downgrade the nations number one pound for pound, who had 3 pins and a major in the NATIONALS, with the so called "barren weight class"

It is really just that: Every one of them, will abandon their own, to try to play up somebody, ANYBODY being better than any of our wrestlers. I let them know that Imar is moving up, but they DON'T WANT THAT because they fear if Imar goes up, Nolf automatically will win the title at 157. The thing is, Imar wrestles for Illinois, NOT Iowa, or Ok state, or Cornell, or Va tech, or Ohio State.

Then they don't want Nato moving up to 133, because they fear it will open up the 125 class even further for Suriano, even though Iowa has Gilman. Then they are trying to figure out Bo Jordan now, already claiming he will beat Bo Nickal.

All they are about anymore, is hating us, they don't even care about their own teams anymore.

Self-awareness meter broke when the guy with the Ohio State logo asked who Zain has wrestled.

It is like, if instead of speculating on our own team, all we did was go through the Iowa or Okla State or Ohio State lineup, trying to figure out who could beat their guy, regardless if it is ours or not.

Somebody actually rattled off the names, and I didn't even realize how many great wrestlers Zain has beaten until I saw it. Like a who's who. In a "barren" weight class.

Welcome to the top. This is what it is like.

Yep. True. But for ALL those years, Lorenzo, Fritz, Troy, we didn't file through Gable's lineup or Smith's lineup and wonder "Ok, let's figure out who can beat their guy". We were about OUR guy.

I am sure some PSU fans met your description. I am sure some PSU fans did not meet your description.

There are still plenty of fans who only care about there program. They are also plenty of fans that wonder what is going on up at the top. Some of those fans have more tact than others. It comes with the territory.

I have always been a Penn State fan first, a wrestling fan second, and have always made my best effort not to root against someone just because they're form another team. I'm not saying I have always been successful in my efforts, but have tried to resist the temptation. Pulling for someone else to lose overtly is a character flaw in my opinion.

This year I was pulling for Dieringer as he deserved a 3rd NC as well as Snyder I was not a 285 believer until after Big 10's. I think without regard to the team race the only wrestler I was happy top see get beat was Gilman. He just seems like a Evans Jr to me. I am shocked that there is not more discussion about my tourney favorite Terao from American.

I think there was a huge difference between Evans and Gilman. Gilman wrestles. He gets after it and wants to score points. Evans was tough, but aesthetically his wrestling was so freaking ugly it was downright revolting.

I guarantee, if Gilman was a Nittany Lion he would be a crowd favorite.

I think Gilman gets a bum rap. I haven't been crazy about some of his after-the-action antics but they were misdemeanors that have been treated like felonies in some circles. I think he's a tough dude who really gets after it, and he could wrestle for my team any time.

(Almost any time ... I reserve the right to dislike him intensely when he's tangling with Nick Suriano next year.)

There aren't many guys in the NCAA who are more fun to watch than Terao.

I believe the advent of the internet and message boards has changed this significantly from those days.

I never had a problem with Gilman, even with the extracurriculars. He handled his loss to Nico with class.

They are now ranting about how Pico is superior...of course Pico does not wrestle in the collegiate game, but hell, if you can't find anyone at the weight to support, you gotta start reaching! He's even reaching for the Metcalf card now. So, apparently, it's ANYONE they can find in the hopes of a PSU guy losing....

Their really up a creek with Cael though....I suppose one of them will pull out the "God" card, saying "Sure Cael was 159-0, but he never wrestled GOD!!!, GOD could take Cael"!!!

Of course he's using a Metcalf several years after college in one part of the argument, but using the college Metcalf to buttress his point about Lance Palmer.

I wonder how many bogus injury breaks Palmer would use while struggling underneath Zain. He surely seemed to use one against BM in 2010.

The Stieber Story gets better with age - in a year it will be claimed he suffered from both Dengue Fever and the Vapors when Zain beat him, not just your ordinary flu.

Or did Ryan and crew finally deem it worthy to scout our precocious freshman and stay away from bottom the next 2 times they wrestled. Again, though, it's not like Stieber bonused him afterwards. Stieber controlled the next 2 matches as you'd expect a guy with 4 years in age and 3 additional years in a college room would do.

Good point Lyco1990 -

Terao is a senior who has no more eligibility.

senior captain David Terao captured fourth place at the 2016 NCAA Division I Wrestling Championship

I really enjoyed watching him wrestle, in full, wide open mode. He was like a mongoose in quickness and daring. Yet in the end, he got bit by two excellent wrestlers, Tomasello and Megaludis.

There were some posts about him in the days following his match.

Guessing that there hasn't been much more discussion about him because he is no longer in the analysis for what lies ahead.

Am sorry he won't be on the NCAA stage again. Would watch him again, if he was competing.

He won the hearts of the crowd of wrestling enthusiasts, garnering an amazing standing ovation. Truly an amazing honor for Terao in its own right, as a wrestler with a tough, quick and entertaining style, driven by lots of heart.

No wonder they are so "cross."

Even God has a loss on his record (to Jacob) so you'd have to say Cael has a chance.

Sure, God lost to Jacob, but God had a terrible flu and was nearly so sick that his coach, Abraham T Ryan, nearly sent him home to the hospital.

God's loss to Jacob, should have an asterisk by it.

God's also a incorrigible staller. Should have taken him 3 days to create the world but he dilly-dallied

They give Iowa lots of hate also so don't feel like you getting it all.

You mean the Buckeye fan who is over there trying to take the shine of Retherford's season long domination by claiming two freestyle wrestlers, one of which is 8 years older, are better? Then comparing Retherford to Martinez, who wrestle at and have ALWAYS wrestled at two different weights?

That guy is a piece of work, haha.

It's like me saying: "Sure, Thomas Gilman is the favorite at 125 this season, but he can't beat Dean Heil!, and he would have trouble with Brent Matcalf, and Angel Escobedo would probably beat him, and if not, then for SURE he would lose to the ghost of Randy Lewis". Haha.

Sounds like Stieber was fighting for his life against young Zain this morning even though all Logan's doing is training freestyle. Hmmmmm. Maybe he has a slight flu

Comical how many Ohio State fans strangely decided to wear black and gold for the Molinaro vs Steiber match.

Mike Pucillo on Twitter comically suggesting Flo hates tOSU.
He's frantically posting pictures of Stieber beating Zain back in 2014.

Feed silent as to Frank-Stieber
