Your best round of golf, course and score:

I once scored a 19 under par 53 on Birdie King circa 1990. *

*

at a legit course = 85 at Silverado Country Club (Napa CA) in 1986. Played in a foursome for business - right behind foursome that included Clint Eastwood. very memorable.

I would normally be around low 90's on most legit courses. hit an 87 on Toftrees in 1989 BWI weekend.

Re: Fairways of Half Moon - 173ish***

^^^^well...you beat the chick from FDU-Florham who shot a 248 last week. Including a 60!!! on a par 5^^^^^

68.........

at Twin Creeks Golf Course in Chucky, Tennessee. Not a tough course. 73 at a challenging Jackson Country Club in Jackson, Tennessee. Both when I was much younger.

76 at White Deer GC (Allenwood, PA) back when I worked there...

...one of the summers of HS or early college.

81 at Spyglass......85 at Pebble

73 at the public course in Salinas called Fairways. Of course I don't think I could
do that today.

75 at a course somewhere in Virginia. I used to play Conley's a lot

back when I lived in the burg. That course used to back up fast on Saturdays. Once saw two guys almost go at it with golf clubs. Came upon the scene as the two of them had their clubs reared and ready to swing. Crazy awful if it would have happened. My foursome talked them out of it and hopefully that was it and did not continue later somewhere on the course.

Lowest score was even par 72 at Broadrun GC. in Chester County, PA but my best round may have been an 82 at New Seabury CC blue course on Cape Cod when the wind was whipping so hard it was pulling flag sticks out of the holes. That one gave great satisfaction with all of the shot making required as well as mental toughness. I can shoot in the 90's when things aren't going well!

10 under @ Scally's in Moon Twp, PA, including an ace on George The Giraffe

and Bruno The Bear, two very difficult holes.

Played There When We Visited The Grandparents In Williamsport!

Rule #1: Don't try to retrieve bad tee shots from the penitentiary.....!

Not a full round but the only thing worth mentioning is a 39 thru 9 at Willow Hollow in Reading. I absolutely imploded on the back 9!!

77 at Williams CC in Weirton, WV.

about 5 or 6 years ago. It was just my day.

I started playing about 9 years ago when I had to hang up basketball due to cartilege gone (6 knee operations including both ACL's over the years....). But my golf game has deteriorated the last couple of year as I approach 60 years old. Stiff in the wrong places, etc....

Really was not playing very well last year, but started the new year today with an 84 at Reserve Run. Hadn't hit a ball since October....

Have had 4 or 5 other rounds in the high 70's as well, on public courses. Haven't been in even the 80's much on contry club courses.

...33 ...At The "Under The Seas" 18 Hole...

...miniature golf course on the Ocean City Boardwalk...

79 At Spyglass (1981 or so) / 81 At Whistling Straits (2004 or so)!

Was +3 after 15 at Spyglass and CHOKED my way home. My two playing partners said they'd never seen me stand over a putt as long as I did on 18, needed about a 7-8 footer to save the 79. Thought I was wearing a turtleneck that my wife left in the drier for about a week.....needed oxygen by the time I struggled in.

Doubled #9 and #10 at Whistling, but no bomb holes and no lost balls or penalty shots. Got exceptionally lucky all day long, got some great bounces and some great breaks and the weather cooperated. Have never been back!

Shot a 31 thru 9 at Fairfield Golf course

The 8th and 9th were played during a thunderstorm. Incredibly stupid, but it was really hard to stop during the round of my life. I'd added an extra twist at the top of my backswing and was driving out of my mind. I drove the green on a 347 yard par 4 that wasn't downhill.

I was devastated I couldn't play the back 9. I kept the length on my drives for a couple more rounds, but suddenly lost control and had to go back to my old method. Since I'm now older and don't get to play anywhere near as often, that'll likely always be the peak of my game.

68 at Blue Mash in Montgomery County MD
77 at Pebble

The 75 a Pebble was the better round.

Re: 79 At Spyglass (1981 or so) / 81 At Whistling Straits (2004 or so)!

My 81 at Spyglass was in 1978. Had 37 on the back side. I probably have played Spyglass about
15 times. It's way too expensive now to play. Played Pebble twice back in the 80s. Back then a
Japanese group owned it. They allowed their employees to play after 3pm for free, once a month. That
employee could take 3 others with them, for free too. Pebble has very, very, very small greens.
Intimidating the first time I played it. I was better prepared the second time. I was one over after
7 holes and hit the 8th in regulation. I three putted and it was all down hill from there. I struggled
from hole 9 on, until 18. I birdie 18, which made me day.

Where do you play regularly?

Played Poppy this morning. Play at Del Monte as well the Fort Ord courses.

Lowest round, one under 69 at Niagara Falls CC. Best round, one over 73 at Royal New Kent. Those type of rounds happened when I could still reach par 5s..

My goal now is to shoot my age. At 71 though I'm afraid it will have to be from the forward tees ... anything over 6300 yards plays long.

69 at Arrowhead, southwest of Denver. Years ago
70 Saddleback, Firestone, Colorado this year, 6200 yds, blue tees

My best round was when I had 3 consecutive birdies on the front nine at the Loon in Gaylord MI.
Also had 3 doubles that nine, lol, so I didn't even break 40. Finished the round in the upper 80's.
I rarely have more than 1 birdy in a round, so 3 in a row was crazy!!

8 hole in ones on an 18 round of minature golf at the Pit Mills Mall course

no joke good day

Re: 87 at Berwick Golf Club, Berwick, PA

psuguy04...played Berwick yesterday...awesome shape and dry as toast...couldn't believe it for early April.

Lowest round was a 64 at a local course near Scranton (Pine hills). Best round was at Blue Ridge Trail golf club which was playing around 7100 yards with a 74.8 rating. Shot an even par 72 with 18 consecutive pars. Made some up and downs that I will never forget.

622...Blue Ridge is one of the nicest public facilities around...and for $35 bucks you can't beat it...

67 @ Tyoga Country Club in Wellsboro, PA - my home course growing up. 36 - 31 with two eagles on the back. Putted out of my freakin mind!

Berwick is one of the most underrated, underappreciated courses...

...in central/northeastern PA.

It's a great track. The club's board/management has run its membership, and physical buildings, into the ground over the years.

But, the course itself is just great at all times of the year. The grounds crew does a wonderful job.

Hole #4 is a tough, short par 5 (about 500 yards). #5 is one of the toughest holes in the area, even though it's not rated as toughest on the course. #11 is a very picturesque par 4.....#14 is a wonderful, long par 3 and #16 is tough as heck with the green's false front.

I love Blue Ridge--wish I would've played it more often when...

...I lived near there.

IMO, it's vastly superior to Sand Springs.
