If I go work for a company, and a week later I'm charged or it becomes public I'm accused of raping someone a year ago, they don't lack "jurisdiction" to let me go because it happened before I got there.

I live in Texas and I honestly have not heard one person say this. Not on the radio, not on my social media feeds that are full of Cowboy fans, not in person, etc.
