Which PSU Board do you think will be “the” PSU Board?

I spend waaaay too much time here. If this board implodes, I am done. I will not be going to On3 or any other.
I almost never read any of the “insider” football news posted on either site and visit each (too often, as well) because of the community of posters with whom I’ve interacted for close to a decade. But I’m getting to the point that I want to pick one or the other. So, why won’t you try On3?

I am simply not going to invest the time in learning the new platform and the new personnel.

The whole "this site is going away" thing that was actually a lie, no matter the circumstances, didn't sit well with me - could have been handled better somehow. Plus, a strong second to what Obli said about not wanting to learn a new platform/personnel. Happy to be here and have zero interest in the other site.

I do both; I don't find it to be a burden. Yes, there are some duplicate topics, but it isn't bothering me. However, I forget which thread happened about a week or so ago, but I commented that the energy on each of the boards has been greatly diminished from the former McA Board that was here.

I hate the font used on the new board. I prefer the layout here much more.

I haven't spoken up on that. I like Tom and that crew. But I feel the same way. That thought was seeded or, at least, allowed to happen. So much so that we expected to simply get an error code when we checked in at 12:01 am.

I think for football content ON3 and 24/7 have the same guys they always had and it is good. For football only I think On 3 has upped their game with the addition of Greg Pickel and T Frank Carr. I still come here for non football stuff because I like man y posters [and yes even the Test Board]. I am currently on all 3 although when ON 3 starts charging full price I will likely exit one of them.

After four months, I’m tired of going back-and-forth between the two boards, reading basically the same things.

So, what say you?
I'm only viewing the Nittany Lounge, what is the difference? On Nittany Lounge frequently see links taking me to a for pay board. What is that?

Very little overall difference in the two boards. My personal impression after 4 months is that both sites are a diluted version of the original McAndrew Board. And while checking out both isn’t a problem, I’d like to be able to just focus on one.

I signed up for the On3 board using Google OAUTH. It’s broken on On3 so I don’t get access to the free board and their support wouldn’t do anything to fix it. I don’t care enough to try anything, either.

So I only visit this forum. I do miss some of the guys who have left this board but there’s still plenty of enjoyable posts here.

I have mostly been using this board, watching TFrank's videos and listening to Tyler and Sean's podcast. I have not purposely spread myself out on the 3 sites. I just enjoy the board, the videos and podcast.

Lacking the maturity of not talking democrat or republican neither board has the stones to discuss Ukraine , which is a WWIII type potential situation.
That is F------ sad.

I like the wrestling board here. But the football board over there is probably better. Off Topic discussions are fairly good on both.

While entertaining at times, most of the frequent posters who left this board weren't a big loss.

But the answer to your question relies on new sign ups.

Yahoo sports drives people here.

So, in the end is it even worth a $1 to have as a second board, will I read anything different? Finally, is it easy to cancel?

On3 had that $1.00 for the first year, so their Lions Den is my answer for now.

Thought the test board was done with, like the rumor of the end of BWI Mac board, never mind then . But i don't see any link to it.

Here's a link:

There's been a lively discussion of the issue over there. Some of it thoughtful and informed. Some not. In any case, it doesn't always break down along the usual lines.

I may just stay on free nittany lounge board. There are not many discussions on lions den anymore.

im on on3 as well. Same people that were here for years. Easy board to learn and navigate, plus you can post pics from your phone instead of a link.

I don't get why people went to on3. I sure as hell owe no loyalty to the name of a free message board. Keeping the same bookmark and name is 1000x better.
I'm guessing many followed Tom over there and stay there because of him.

Tom very strongly implied that the boards here would be gone once the switch happened. So perhaps some just quit. Who knows.

I enjoy the testboard here but follow football on On3. That being said, I have noticed that I don't pay attention to the recruits nearly as much as I used too, I don't even bother reading their interviews any longer.

It was always complete nonsense. Like yahoo/rivals, who has a message board for every CFB program, was just gonna fold up shop on PSU because some old guy was taking his [free] talents elsewhere? A few of us were calling out the nonsense immediately. It was obvious that the name might change and we'd lose a petty history tyrant and Ryan Snyder, if he chose to go, but clearly Yahoo wasn't going away.
Personally, I like it here much better now without the old regime threatening discussions of public policy as "politics" while simultaneously singing the praises of Nicole Hannah Jones' 1619 project, an inherently political (and divisive and bat-sh*t crazy) enterprise. I say this with all due respect, but F that guy. He was as big a problem here are the people he protected.
It's been a bit slow, but we'll see what happens when there is non OT stuff going on, and presumably, some new blood finds the site. There is plenty of space for new voices.

As a Buckeye, I view myself as a guest here and try not to offend. (Not the same on the test board) Really didn't like some of Tom's moderation/censorship on Covid and on some political issues he raised. (which I won't revisit here)

Agreed....most "interviews" seem to be the "same old stuff"...which we never heard about in the Joe days at all so it was interesting - but now the sincerity of the process is not genuine.

Quinn Nordin, Trey Wingo, Justin Fields were "all in" until they weren't...way over the drama...I wait mostly til signing day and with the way things are now for football and basketball transfer rules I find myself investing even less time researching the person behind the player since they are all free agents anyway.

Years ago I remember a poster who claimed to have gone to college (Harvard?) with Nick Sukay's older sister posting play by play about a supposed family dinner at a Pittsburgh restaurant where Nick was going to make up his mind....those were the days : )
