I have never been to East Lansing but I could not care less about the town since I am going to watch the wrestling in the arena. If you skip the BIGs because you don't like the city that does not say much about how much of a wrestling fan you are. Just saying.

Yeah wrestling sucks. Why do i even throw so much money and time into it!

I worked in East lansing and Jackson for about 4 months. Nothing personal against anyone from there i just wish i had that time back. Some good moments but overall it was torture. I would still keep those paychecks though!

We went to the football game there this season and had a blast. I look forward to going back for the tournament.

I went to a game there too back in 2009. PSU and MSU were playing after the scUM vs Yuks, so we went to a bar to watch. I had a blast cheering with the MSU fans against scUM.

Stadium not great, town not great, hotel was meh, but the memories are fantastic.

the event is usually what you make it.

I'd pay a nickel just to meet you, and NoVa might throw in a dime or too. Come on, Turk, make it happen :)!

Seriously... as NoVa said, it's all about the wrestling. Worst that could happen would be the weather not cooperating.

My brother in law went to MSU for his PhD, so I've been a few times. It's not Madison but not bad for a packed events weekend, esp. if you can get into the downtown hotel just off Grand River Ave, or the campus hotel adjacent to the arena. (That's a hint -- book ASAP -- other hotels are barely walkable or not walkable in spring/summer/fall.)

The Dairy Store is good, not quite the Creamery but what is?

Don't plan to spend any extra time. East Lansing is dull and Lansing = Harrisburg. In nicer weather there are some good options an hour or so to the west -- Meijer Gardens, Grand Rapids, and Grand Haven/South Haven/Lake Michigan beaches -- but it's early March in the upper midwest.
