2018 the Suriano curse that wasn't

I have no ill-will toward Suriano. However, his best shot to win a NC was last year had he not been injured.

Now that Spencer Lee is in town and Daton Fix is joining, Nick will never win a national title. I can see another finals appearance but Lee and Fix are another level.

Had he stayed at PSU and trained in a room with blue chip talent (e.g. Teasdale, RBY, Busiello, etc) and blue chip coaching I think he would eventually reach the top.

At Rutgers? Not so much.

Obviously can't speak for majority and won't talk football and stay on wrestling. Fan base also not happy with Deluca but pull him out and I see a team that came out ready to wrestle "tough". I also see teams that wrestle PSU and are more or less ready to lose. Granted we knew that a win was probably not going to happen but they weren't going to lay on the mat and give the dual away. Unfortunate for Nolf injury and our crowd applauded Jason but outside of these events lets not blanket statement our team as MMA. My views and again I'm not talking about the Creedo's of the world.

Who wrestled PSU “ready to lose”? Lehigh? Michigan? Iowa? Lock Haven?

Hell Army gives us their best. Maybe Buffalo because their coach was saving his better guys and was called out for that, but every team gives us their best. This isn’t the sport or level for coming out “ready to lose.”

I can guarantee you Gravina was wrestling hard at Rec Hall when Bo gave me my (after Saturday) second favorite highlight of his.

And your fan base doesn’t get a pass after 2014 in football. You want respect, you give it first.

I don't give a rats ass about Rutger's, but they were the start of a loss of respect for a number of programs the way they and others wrestled against Zain. The face slapping, not head slapping got out of control. Pretty sad when a program goes to those tactics, and turtling to stay in a match. It's called wrestling, not hiding. It got to the point for me, I really didn't get much enjoyment watching Zain wrestle towards the end of the year. Looking forward to his future where the stalling and bs slapping goes away.

I said the other night, as soon as Nolf came up, it was back to wrestling again. The face slapping stopped as did the stalling. I may have missed this over the years, but I've never seen slapping of the head and face, actually strikes, like I did against Zain. I had also not seen points deducted not once but twice in a match for it. Utter nonsense, and the refs tolerated it way too much. Just my 2 cents.

I wouldnt jump to too many conclusions about Surianos chances at 125 next year. Let's not forget he was out of the lineup for about a month or so before briefly wrestling in the Big 10 tournament

Dont know the condition of his knee or what he did during the down time but thats a big break in front of the NCAAs..

I give him credit for not offering up an excuse and giving SL the credit he deserves

Serious question-do you think it is because Zain has a history of doing the same thing, to the point that he gave up points?

Zain has gotten dinged for hands to the face, most notably in the freestyle season last year. Never for throwing full out haymaker clubs though.

I saw somewhere that speculated the Bo's speech was a jab at Suriano...I didn't even think about that at the time but must admit after watching it again, I can see why someone may think that. Doubt it though?

My thinking is that it was directed at Kyle Snyder who when interviewed before the tournament did a little recruiting piece saying almost word for word what Bo said in his post match commentary

DelVecchio had a great tourney. So did Nick S--though we already knew he could beat Cruz (though it was more lopsided last time at the BJC). I was not at all confident, when he was our guy, that Nick would touch Lee again, and I'm not too confident he will, if he stays at weight. He's still a great wrestler with a fantastic shot at 3 time AA, and possibly a champion. I like Fix and Lee better though.

Zain didn't club people to the head or face. We've seen people swing at Zain. It's pretty simple, no one can beat Zain in college. We saw it the other night. That kid from Lock Haven didn't even try to get up, and didn't get called for a stall. It was ridiculous. Wrestlers know, you can't get taken down by Zain, and you're in trouble trying to get up. I have to say, I never saw Sorensen try these tactics. He sat on bottom some, but not turtling up and clubbing Zain.

Teams that get beat up on here.
RU
Goofers
tO$U
Hawks
sPitt
What do 3 of the 5 have in common? Posters/fans of those teams taking shots at our team for what is judged by PSU fans as out of bounds. So people take it the extreme the other way...why? because its the internet.
I would've guessed national titles.
