2019 Recruiting Class Thread

Very odd. One of those programs I wouldn’t touch with a ten-foot pole if I were a major prospect. Good academics though so can’t blame him there.
This is odd considering the report for him to go to OSU was it was close to home. Why go that far away then?

If you look at a map, OSU and VT are generally the same distance away from Huntington, WV but in opposite directions. Penn State is more than double the distance away from Huntington, WV to OSU and VT. Proximity to home was always a factor in Nester's recruiting, so I think the distance played a role in Nester going to VT, if that does turn out to be the case.

But you are right, VT is a dumpster fire right now. A few prominent players are transferring from VT and Justin Fuente is on the hot seat if he has another .500 winning season. VT is a decent school from the mid-atlantic states perspective, but it does not have a brand or reputation that stands up across the country, like a Penn State or Ohio State.

Rather he go to VT then OSU. Wasn't crazy about him anyway though I'd take it.

Just get Cross and be done with this class. Sorrels too but seems like a reach at this point. All the rest are depth pieces to me who if they don't play enough in 2 years will just transfer anyway with new rules.

Nester not going to OSU and having him string OSU along for 2 years is a win for PSU.

Yeah, it sucks we may not get him, but he most likely is a Guard in college. We are set at Guard and he was not going to beat out Rasheed Walker, Des Homes, or Whigan for the available RT spot. Better VT than OSU.

if we got Sorrells, Cross and either the big OL from Indy or Nester - we should be very happy. right now it sounds like this is not too realistic, based on recruiting services today. however in 5 years of CJF recruiting, he provides positive surprises every year so anything is possible.

Can someone post that link that lets you add players to the class and recalculate what the team ranking would be depending on who we signed?

And a quicker road to not winning any championships or games that matter. Other than ND, no one is ranked higher and less deserving in each ore-season poll.
We've had one more than Va Tech last few years, let's not kid ourselves and be like a Michigan fan. Good for him, glad it's not OSU, let's move on. Is our program in better shape, sure. Is it for everyone, nope.

I don’t care if we get him or not. Why don’t you take a look at pre-season polls and finishes over the last 10, 20, 30 years or however long you want and then the final poll and let me know. They shit the bed more than any other team in college football. That’s the point I’m trying to make. If he chooses them, good luck to him and next man up.

If nester to VT is true, then who the heck is the mysterious fourth we are better for? Cross BEFORE his visit? Seems odd. We might miss on sorrels, nester and cross.....

I hope I’m wrong and have zero inside info, I don’t subscribe to anything, but just a gut feeling we miss on all 3. Still a great class though

If Nester is out for OSU that's not a good start for Day. It was widely reported that he was Ohio States top priority in the late signing period.

My final guesses heading into NSD week:
TJ Jones: Penn State
Doug Nester: Flips to Virginia Tech
Jaquaze Sorrells: South Carolina
Nick Cross: Sticks with FSU
Dawand Jones: Ohio State
Mark-Antony Richards: Auburn
Brett Seither: Georgia
Darnell Wright: Tennessee
Wisdom Asaboro: North Carolina

Hope I'm wrong on a couple, think best bet would be in this order:
1. Nick Cross flips to PSU
2. Dawand Jones picks PSU
3. Jaquaze Sorrells picks PSU

If that comes to fruition, do you see the Devonshires and Hardy’s of the world getting offers?
