2021 PSU MLAX Thread

I thought PSU was loaded this year?

PSU was loaded for 2020. Most of the top players who were seniors in 2020 elected to return for the 2021 season. Grant Ament chose to move on, and went #1 in the draft. Those that follow MLAX knew Ament was special, but his absence this season is noticeable.

Something else to factor in that traditionally, teams work out their new rosters during fall ball scrimmages with other teams, and preseason scrimmages just before the start of the season. Due to COVID-19, those normal options were not available to PSU, so they're forced to have to resolve these issues during games.

Tambroni is an excellent coach. He'll either fix the situation as the season progresses, or we'll be able to conclude that there really wasn't a suitable replacement for Ament.

I must admit, I thought the Ament loss was big...but it seems like much more than expected.

And how do you explain last week? How does this offense score 15 against a decent OSU team and then come back with its worst performance of the season this week?

John Hopkins at PSU today at 2 pm on ESPNU. the guide says new , I think they have already played each other this year

PSU gets on the board 1st against tOSU. How there wasn't a penalty on the defender on the shot is a mystery to me. 1-0, PSU

TJ Malone with a great individual effort to put PSU up 3-2 in the 2nd qtr. Before that, both teams were in a competition for who could make the most unforced errors in their offensive half.

Ugghgggg when you have a fast break or semi fast break push it down the field get it behind bring it around.

tOSU goes a man up for a minute due to a penalty on a PSU defender. PSU with 2 nice saves, but tOSU scores with 3 sec left on the advantage. 3-3, with 6:44 left in the 2nd qtr.

ugh, 2nd time PSU's man behind the net comes out on a play, shoots wide, and nobody from PSU went behind the net, so turnover PSU

tOSU goes up 4-3, after another PSU turnover in their offensive half (9th, I believe, in the 1st half). 1:33 left in the half.

PSU wins the draw, Malone with a nice shot by tOSU GK saves it. Then tOSU goes down the field and scores on their 1st shot of the 2nd half, making in 5-4, tOSU. An inauspicious start for PSU.

Then O'Keefe is free in front of the tOSU GK, but the GK blocks the shot, and tOSU back on the offense. PSU D nearly forces a turnover, but tOSU recovers the ball, misses on a shot, but scores on a tough angle shot to go up 6-4, with 11:43 left in the 3rd qtr.

Malone gets free off a pick and scores for PSU to make it 6-5, tOSU, with 10:27 left in the 3rd qtr

penalty on tOSU puts PSU a man up for 30 seconds, and then PSU turns it over with about 5 seconds left on the advantage. smh

damn, tOSU scores with 5 sec. left on the shot clock, as they take a 7-6 lead with 3:22 left in the 3rd qtr

PSU wins the face-off and ... once again, an unforced turnover in their offensive end. I feel like a broken record.

PSU GK with a save. tOSU D forces a turnover but PSU gets the ball back, then tOSU's GK with a nice save, then tOSU turns it over in their offensive half.

PSU nearly screws up (again, man behind takes a shot and tOSU recovers, but Foulds with a great check which pops the ball, he recovers and scores, making it 7-7. Under 12 min left in the 4th qtr
