Great win but being the 6th ranked team in the BiG is not what we're used to.

I watched the match on TV and if I am correct... noticed something rather odd for a typical PSU match.
Correct me if I am wrong but PSU only played 8 players the whole match.
The 8 include the 7 regulars ( including both MB's in the count) and the server specialist (Kuerchen). No other subs.
Noticeably absent: FITZPATRICK, BILINOVIC, & KUDRYASHOVA
I have been following the team for 15 years now, and do not remember ever seeing this.
Looks like Russ wanted to ensure this win. All 3 listed above have good skillsets. This aspect of no subs could work against us if we do not get these players experience in matches against good teams before tournament time.

Another observation from the game is that Blossom really connected with her hitter, one of the best matches she has had. Was in great sync with both Transfers and Rollins had a seasons best performance against any of the ranked teams we played.

Also PSU has move ahead of 2 of the 3 teams that beat them in the new poll...good sign as the team continues to improve.

The ladies seemed very "out of sorts" in set 1 and started to battle in set 2. Maryland block was pretty impressive.

Fortunately, they turned it around. Big TEAM effort that was dominant in the last 3 sets.

Maryland beat Wisconsin last weekend. They deserve to be ranked and will cause some trouble in the Big 10.

With Pritchard "unavailable" it took all of the first set and most of the second to regroup and get it together. Pritchard has to be about the best outside hitter on the team and it appeared they found out about her "unavailable" on short notice. Rose ran people in and out like a revolving door.
I was at the match and the team stayed focused throughout. A significant contingent of PSU fans seemed to help. Especially in set 5.

I can't believe no comments on the great match tonight. Down 2-0, now up 11-7 in set 5. This team us getting better every match. Don't sleep on them.
"OT": I plan to attend next Friday's VB match vs. Nebraska. My tickets are SRO. If Rec Hall isn't filled to capacity, will I be able to sit in an unoccupied seat?

Wonder if Pritchard didn't want to travel to her old team? She certainly didn't get hurt in the match on Sunday.

Granted, I didn't watch the entire match but from what I did watch it appears they still have serve receive issues? I noticed this in the first match against Iowa State. Granted the opposition is serving to where the players are stacked to screw up your offense but I don't recall in the past, the NC teams, the setter running all over the place to get to the serve receive pass ends up to set the ball. A bad pass takes you out of your offense. It all starts with a good pass to the setter so you can run your offense.

Yes. Average attendance is about 4K. Should be more for Nebraska but there will be seats. Season tickets are in the South stands so try the North stands.

Russ Rose....out of genuine respect for Joe he's giving PSU the deserved big Middle Finger one year at a time. It's kinda funny to watch.....he's coasting, just waiting/daring someone in Sandy's hierarchy to fire him.

There's been a pattern of behavior. I can't blame him

The pattern of behavior that I can see is that Russ's teams have been ranked in every AVCA poll since the final rankings of the 1988 season -- 493 consecutive polls over almost 33 years. I wish all of our coaches would coast like that.
