That comeback alone and to put the cherry on top with a fall. Sweet.
Dean was in great position, but I didn't think ever got enough control for a TD. Apparently neither did the PSU staff, though I suppose one could argue it was worth a challenge.
If he threw a leg in he would’ve had it. But he never did. Not sure it would’ve mattered though. Allred finished cleanly whenever he committed to scoring.

You guys are way to tough on AF! The guy wrestled great in duals for us all year. Knocked off Amine and no blew him out. He unfortunately had a Hilderbrandt type tournament collapse. He will be fine and will be a hammer for us before leaves. He is a great defensive wrestler and has super gas tank and keeps coming at you like SVN. He needs to finish on his shots. That is easily correctable and I am sure Casey and Cody will drive that into him over the off season. I am not worried. The kid is a redshirt frosh in a absolutely killer weight class. I am more worried about who fills in at 197 next year?
In a way, Shayne reminds me of both Nico and Nick Lee early in their careers. They push the pace, but the more seasoned wrestlers know how to use it against them. This is not a criticism. I like it, but he will need to “know when to hold ‘em” at some point
Please remind him of this before he wrestles Paris again. Dude needs to attack from space and at different levels and angles. Not from right in front of him with no set up. Paris just drops his hips and lays on him.
I like most of those matchups. Bartlett and Levi with the toughest matchups but I feel good about both. BB/Matthews will be a 1 point match for sure. Levi keeps position and shoots his double/high crotch while bailing on any over under/double over positions and I like his chances. SVN should handle Rooks and if he continues to push the pace he could potentially find bonus again. Kerk, AB, Starocci, and RBY should all win comfortably. I’m interested to see RBY/Nagao and see what adjustments were made. Pretty good first day and tomorrow should only be better. We have a decent chance to push 7 into the semis! 7!! I’m not expecting all 7 to get there but looking at each match individually I’m not sure who I would actually pick to lose. Let’s go!!

Exactly! It was very close. At least give Max a little breather there. He needed it. I don't understand Max always had a great gas tank and these last couple of matches all of a sudden he is sucking wind half way through the second period? Something isn't right? Is he getting over Covid? That is not the same Max we saw during the season? Just slow and sluggish? There has to be more to this story? I wonder if we can lure away the J. Smith from Maryland? That kid would flourish in our room. I wouldn't mind trying to grab that Ramos kid at 125 from Purdue if Robbie shoulder is a no go as well.

I like most of our matchups tomorrow as well. Andonian is very freaky though and Nagao is peaking at the right time. I like both our guys by decision.
The portal isn’t a wrestler supermarket, LOL. It has to make sense for a kid’s future to come to Penn State, too.
Round 2 thoughts. Another great performance going 7 for 8. Facundo got a tough draw in consis, but he needs to win the first match to avoid that. He just didn’t do well enough (I’m sure he’d say the same thing…). Come back better next year, you can do it. Van Ness, what can I say, awesome run, now poised to get a shot at Yianni in the semis. The big guns (RBY, Starocci, Brooks, Kerk) are cruising so far. Everything is lining up as it should be.
Nagao is super sticky on top and I think he is/is going to be fantastic. But I just don’t get the concern here. RBY is a 2x champ for a reason and there are levels to this sh-(stuff). As of now, Nagao isn’t quite on that level.

Wow, I expect the gap to be pretty wide for the team race after tomorrow morning. Not even being a prick, but Iowa is looking at 2-3 semifinalists and dropping 1-3 of their consy matches. We have 5 near certain semifinalists with 2 others that I'd put at 50/50. I also like Dean's consy draw, so we should have all 8 still alive. Gonna be fun!
So I've checked a few places and can't find a definitive answer. Does session 3 tomorrow start at 11 am EST or 12 pm EST? Thanks.
