Wrestling 2023 NCAA Tournament Live Thread

McGee had locked hands twice and he was gifted that reversal. I can't believe how bad the officiating has been in this championships. That said RBY did what he needed to do and all is well.

I get it we don't like Iowa but at the end of the day Spencer is good for the sport and seems like a good person so I can't help having some empathy for a legacy ended twice so close to being a 4 timer.

Not really, that's absurd. Why would I not feel great for Ramos beating a prior multi-year Champ - he seems like a great kid????

Should we start a GofundMe for new eyeglasses for Mrs Lee?

I nearly threw my remote at the screen when they cut to Vito walking off the mat as they were scrambling.

McGee definitely panicked in OT. He took a terrible shot from distance then tried to scramble out of it.

RBY’s body language after he got behind was what I’d point out to my wrestlers. He just kept coming forward and creating opportunities

After watching your posts the last few days I get it that you struggle with complex thought but a person can be happy for one wrestler and at the same time feel bad for the other. They are not mutually exclusive.

Why would RBY take down when riding time was going to go over a minute negating an escape? He threw away almost a minute of time. I swear coaches need some kind of decision card for choosing top, neutral or bottom like NFL coaches use for deciding whether to go for 2 or not.
Agree, that was not a good choice. Why waste time trying to get out when you were most likely giving up the riding time anyway. Thankfully it didn't cost him the match.
