Haven't ever been to the NCAA tournament and it's a bucket list item for me. I want to take my son to next year's championships in KC. What are the best steps to take to get tickets? I've seen in the past about getting season tickets for different teams, etc., but wanted to know for sure. Thanks in advance!

what time do the parking lots open? :)

If you don’t care where you sit, go without tickets and just buy off Ticketmaster. First three sessions you could sit ~10 rows up for $6 plus fees. Finals tickets were as low as $20. The building appeared to be at best 3/4 full for any session. I assume it will be similar going forward if ticket distribution is like this year.

Whats the best guess as far as the venue not being more sold out?

when they were at MSG in NY I just went onto stubhub each night and bought the tickets for the next day's seesion. There seemed to be a good selection available , didn't sit in the same spot each session which was fine by me.

KC airport runs three times the passenger volume than Tulsa, so KC is going to be easier to get to. Travel from central PA was neither easy, nor cheap. Assuming this was the case for the rest of the country, this should increase attendance.

Because the travel kept people away, there will be some people ready and raring to go, also increasing attendance.

I can't figure out the capacity difference between the arenas, as they give capacities for different types of events. The max capacity for each arena for basketball is 19,000 and 17,840, for T-Mobile and BOK, respectively, allowing more fans next year.

Will the bigger arena be filled up due to easier travel? Who knows?

The secondary ticket market is a viable option as mentioned above. We've had success with supporting another D1 program. There are lots of other programs who regularly send wrestlers to Nationals and have a lot less fans clamoring for tickets. If you have the means, a couple of hundred bucks the schools wrestling club, will get you ticket applications for Nationals. It's a win-win situation. The fledgling program gets your support and you get nationals tickets. And every one of those programs had better seat than I had in the PSU section 317, row T. (Full disclosure: This year we bought tickets through PSU. We didn't pursue tickets from other schools.) Point is, I've gotten access to tickets through other school's wrestling programs.
