Heard a rumor that WVU is pushing TV networks for a night game, and Friday night or even Thursday night are open for discussion. Hop it sticks for Saturday.

Probably depends on whether FOX or ESPN gets the game. FOX has a crappy slate on Saturday from the Big Ten, so they probably would prefer to get the game and keep it there. FOX already has a game on Thur night with UNC/Minnesota.

ESPN has a number of decent games on Saturday so would probably be pretty open to moving it to Thur or Fri.

That will happen, probably Friday night.

Saturday marquee matchup is Georgia vs. Clemson and ND vs. A&M.

Well, PSU@WVU won’t be Saturday night.

Well, it would never have been on NBC so this tells us nothing - the game is governed by the Big 12 TV deal, so it will be on either a FOX or ESPN network. It's entirely possible that the game could be at night or at any time on either of those family of networks. My guess would be noon on FOX though.

WVU is the home team so wouldn't the game be based on Big 12 media contract and not Big Ten media contract?

It tells us defending MNC Michigan won’t be on Fox as an opener. Their list of choices of games is one fewer than we knew previously.

Um, okay, but that has nothing to do with PSU's game. Even if FOX did carry the Michigan game that week, they could still potentially get PSU/WVU to carry in a different window. Whatever games are carried as part of the Big Ten TV package that day doesn't impact what games are carried under the Big 12 deal. And the broadcast of PSU/WVU is under the Big 12 deal.

I never said the WVU game wasn’t under the Big 12 contract or that my post was a final answer to the game time.

Fox is going to want something that approaches an attractive game on that day for their season opening noon game. With UM being off the table, the pickings are even slimmer than they were. Guess they could always fall back to just picking tOSU.

The unknown controlling factor would be does Fox have to show a B1G game at Noon to avoid a window conflict with CBS at 3:30? There are a good number of important contract details unavailable to the public.

I’d prefer the PSU game not be the noon game, but would think it would be the most likely at this point without contract restrictions.

FOX doesn’t have to pick a Big Ten home game in week one if they don’t want. Last year they didn’t broadcast a Big Ten home game on Saturday in either week 1 or 2. Since they are carrying UNC/Minnesota on Thur of week 1, I really don’t expect they to pick up any of the crappola Big Ten home games on Saturday. I expect PSU/WVU at noon on FOX, CBS will get tOSU and NBC has the Michigan game. PSU sadly has the second best Big Ten matchup in week 1 (USC plays LSU in Vegas on Sunday) by playing WVU.

Corrupt, greedy Fox is ruining college, my game attendance will be cut in half this season due to corrupt, greedy Fox making all of the biggest games at noon yet-again!

So, it doesn't look like we are getting a night home game set in advance for the Whiteout. I wonder what will happen in that regard and if PSU will announce a game in advance soon or what for a while.
