Here's his stat line over the past 5 games of last year (vs. Indiana, Rutgers, MSU, Wisconsin and USC)

Completions: 90
Attempts: 151
Pass Yds: 1556
Comp %: 59.60
Avg Yds/Comp: 17.3
TD: 15
INT: 5
Rushes: 41
Rush Yds: 74

Here's his stat line through 5 games this year.

Completions: 105
Attempts: 160
Pass Yds: 1352
Comp %: 65.6
Avg Yds/Comp: 12.9
TD: 12
INT: 4
Rushes: 56
Rush Yds: 189

For all of the talk about Trace struggling, his completion % is up considerably. I think the initial absence of the Godwin deep threat hurt the passing game but has overall been an insignificant factor in the bottom line.

It's not at all uncommon for a 2nd year starter to take a step back when opposing teams have an off season to study his first year body of work....but in the case of McSorely, seems pretty obvious his detractors are letting his mistakes speak louder than his successes about where he's at and what he's done so far.

Throwing to Barkley is a win-win situation. Higher percentage passes are a positive and it gets our best player extra touches, particularly in space and moving.

Wait and see. We set somebody up on one of these swing passes to Barkley. Once a corner cheats up with no safety help, Trace pump fakes the swing and hits Juwan on the Go route.

Based on the fact they are the most aggressive defense left on our schedule, I'm projecting Michigan.

He's only 5-0 this year. He needs to do better than that.

Agree about Godwin. Lots of YAC. Very special player, and that’s why he’s in the NFL now.

I'm not sure about pump faking to your 2nd check down. We've been throwing that lateral for a few games now and therefore, I wasn't surprised when Saquon chucked it.

I get your TIC comment, but the TEAM is 5-0, not Trace.
He's needs to make better RPO decisions, throw more accurately, and find a way to avoid so many bat-downs at the line.
And I don't want anyone else taking snaps, just pointing out the (obvious) deficiencies that need cleaned up before 10/21.

Following his touchdown pass, Barkley was the first one to congratulate Hamilton. To me this is proof that he could throw the ball down field and catch it himself.

Moorhead should just line him up 1 on 11. His teammates just get in his way.

I think we might be talking about different plays. You are talking about the pitch that Barkley slowed up and threw to Hamilton for a TD. I'm talking about the swing pass that we have run numerous times where Barkley was the primary receiver. Pump fake the swing pass, then go over the top (in theory, an aggressive defense should ignore the WR or avoid his block to tackle Barkley).
