It says something about what this year's team is made of when it can go into the gym of the #5 team in the nation short two starters and having lost the nation's best 125 lb'er by transfer -- and still walk out with W.

Certainly not a pretty W, but I doubt there's too many teams out there who could've rolled out of Bethlehem Sunday afternoon, under the same conditions, with any W, pretty or ugly. Yes, there are obviously some things to work on but, barring injuries, this PSU team should be able to hang with anyone come tournament time.

Not getting the angst from some of the posters. I mean Lehigh has a really good team and PSU was missing a few starters and the match was on the road. Some people think Kutler and Priesch are a couple of chumps, but they aren't. Kutler was having a really good season last year before the weight cut caught up to him.

...the fact is that in today's world, with 9.9 scholarships spread over 5 years, there is a significant drop off from starters to backups...
... few teams can take the mat with essentially 3 backups against a top 10 team and walk away the winner...
... we are very lucky to have young men who go out and represent us with such fight...

I'd love to chime in on this topic!!!!!

No doubt Lehigh has returned to their glory days --- very SOLID top to bottom! I understand the "style" that a few of their studs wrestle, but it's brutal to watch counter wrestling for 6 and 1/2 minutes ... I don't think we saw a takedown attempt from 74-hwt, until Wood shot in on Nevills ( legit shot )

On paper, Lehigh has the best 1-2 punch to start a dual --- both kids look ready to reach the top of the podium! Karam is following the Lizak style, he needs more offense from his feet!

I’m surprised and disappointed by the negativity of some posters. Lehigh constantly wrestles a defensive match when underdogs (wrestle not to give up points keep close till the end. See 174-285.) Not a dig towards Lehigh in fact it is a legit strategy, boring but legit. The guys that were supposed to win did. Karam is a future AA. I remember a match at Lehigh when we had Mega, DT, ED, Tank, and Q and the matches were similar.

Kutler had a great double attempt in the third that I open gasped at, but Hall managed to fight it off, because he's on another level

Preisch didn't even bother to make it look like he was ever going to shoot.

Since you obviously have excess time on your hands: how did Minny's recruits stack up against Pitt's?

That’s good stuff. I’ll take that heading into every dual. Thanks. :)
